HomeMy WebLinkAboutBPW-12-14-94CARMEL BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS SPECIAL MEETING DECEMBER 14, 1994 COUNCIL CHAMBERS/CITY HALL/ONE CIVIC SQUARE The meeting of the Carmel Board of Works was brought to order by Mayor Ted Johnson. Members in attendance were Rick McKinney and Steve Brown. City Attorney Gordon Byers and Deputy Clerk- Treasurer Anne Hartman were also in attendance. RESIGNATION OF POLICE OFFICER JEFFREY JELLISON: Police Officer Jeffrey Jellison tendered his resignation to the Carmel Police Department on December 12, 1994. Police Chief Roger Conn requested the resignation be effective immediate and become part of the records. (See letter attached to original minutes.) Mayor Johnson made motion to dismiss administrative proceedings and recognize the resignation. Rick McKinney seconded the motion. Mayor Johnson called for the question. All members votes aye. Motion passed. BID OPENINGS: The following bids were opened and read aloud for one Pumper Fire Truck. Midwest Fire & Safety $232,477 Trade-in va lue - $ 8,000 Haag Ford Sales 239,003 Trade-in value - 21,900 Hoosier Fire Equipment 232,483 Trade-in value - 15,000 Saulsbury Fire Equipment 210,000 The bids were given to Fire Chief Steve Couts for his review and he will return to the next Board of Works meeting of December 21st with his recommendation. BID AWARD: Mayor Johnson announced the bid for the Additional Parking Lot at City Hall was awarded to Eden Enterprises today, in the amount of $124,850, upon the recommendation of City Engineer Tom Welch. SEWER & WATER AVAILABILITY: Mayor Johnson made a motion to approve the following Sewer and Water Availability for 11580 Haverstick, First Church of Christ, as the Right-of-Way issue has been resolved. Rick McKinney seconded the motion. Sewer - .67 E.D.U.'s not to exceed 201 gallons per day Water - .67 E.D.U.'s not to exceed 201 gallons per day Mayor Johnson called for the question. All members voted aye. Motion passed. AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT/TOWN OF WESTFIELD: Mayor Johnson made a motion to amend the agreement with the Town of Westfield to reflect an increase in the wholesale rate in the amount of 29.34% for wastewater services. Steve Brown seconded the motion. Mayor Johnson called for the question. All members voted aye. Motion passed. AGREEMENT FOR VACATION OF RIGHT-OF-WAY, DEDICATE ADDITIONAL RIGHT-OF-WAY AND ROAD IMPROVEMENTS: Mayor Johnson made a motion to approve the agreement between American Aggregates Corp., Hamilton County and the City of Carmel, for the vacation of right-of-way, dedicate additional right-of-way and construct road improvements. Rick McKinney seconded the motion. Mayor Johnson called for the question. All members voted aye. Motion passed. There being no further business before the Carmel Board of Public Works the meeting was duly adjourned.
