1. CONFORM ALL CONSTRUCTION TO THE 2018 INDIANA BUILDING CODE, AMERICAN INSTITUTE OF STEEL
CONSTRUCTION (ASD 9TH ED.), AMERICANCONCRETE INSTITUTE 318-89, AS WELL AS LOCAL, COUNTY,
AND/OR JURISDICTIONS. IF SUCH RULES AND REGULATIONS ARE IN CONFLICT WITH ANY PORTION OF
THESE DOCUMENTS, THE ARCHITECT SHALL BE INFORMED BEFORE PROCEEDING.
2. ALL INTERIOR BUILDING FINISHES TO CONFORM TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE 2018 INDIANA BUILDING
CODE
3. ANY AND ALL PENETRATIONS SHALL RECEIVE CAULKING TO SEAL ANY TYPE OF ENERGY LOSS. FIRE
CAULKING OR FIRESTOPPING SHALL BE APPLIED IN THE OPENINGS AROUND PENETRATIONS THROUGH
WALLS, FLOORS, AND STUDS.
4. VERIFY ALL EXISTING CONDITIONS PRIOR TO THE START OF CONSTRUCTION. NOTIFY THE ARCHITECT
IMMEDIATELY OF ANY CONFLICTS PRIOR TO PROCEEDING WITH WORK.
5. THE CONTRACTOR TO VERIFY AND COORDINATE ALL APPLICABLE DIMENSIONS OF FIXTURES AND
EQUIPMENT SUPPLIED AND/OR INSTALLED BY OTHERS.
6. GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL ACCOMMODATE BUILDING OWNER'S AND/OR TENANT'S VENDORS DURING
CONSTRUCTION.
7. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL SUBMIT SHOP DRAWINGS OF CUSTOM MILLWORK, CUSTOM FABRICATION OR
MANUFACTURE, AND PHYSICAL SAMPLES OF ALL FINISH MATERIALS SPECIFIED TO THE ARCHITECT FOR
REVIEW AND APPROVAL PRIOR TO ORDERING AND INSTALLATION.
8. THE POSTING OF AN OFFICIAL DESIGN RELEASE PLACARD AND MAINTENANCE OF ONE SET OF STATE-
STAMPED PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS ON THE JOB SITE ARE REQUIRED BY RULE 6, SECTION 19, GAR (675
IAC 12).
9. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL FILE ALL DRAWINGS FOR PERMIT APPLICATION OR OTHER MATERIALS
REQUIRED TO SECURE ANY AND ALL NECESSARY BUILDING PERMITS AS MIGHT BE REQUIRED BY ANY
LOCAL ORDINANCES TO PERFORM THIS WORK.
10. THE DRAWINGS ARE NOT TO BE SCALED. FOR INFORMATION CONCERNING EXISTING PARTITIONS, ETC.,
VERIFICATIONS MUST BE DONE IN THE FIELD.
11. THE USE OF THE WORDS "PROVIDE" OR "PROVIDED" IN CONNECTION WITH ANY ITEM SPECIFIED, IS
INTENDED TO MEAN, UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED, THAT SUCH SHALL BE FURNISHED AND INSTALLED,
FOLLOWING MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS, AND SUPPLYING AND
INSTALLING ALL ASSOCIATED ITEMS AND ACCESSORIES AS REQUIRED, AND CONNECTED WHERE SO
REQUIRED FOR A COMPLETE INSTALLATION.
12. UPON COMPLETION OF PROJECT, OBTAIN ALL FINAL INSPECTIONS AS REQUIRED BY LOCAL
JURISDICTIONS AND FURNISH OWNER WITH EVIDENCE OF ALL SUCH INSPECTIONS AND CERTIFICATES OF
OCCUPANCY.
13. UPON COMPLETION OF PROJECT, PROVIDE OWNER WITH ALL INSTRUCTION MANUALS, WARRANTIES OR
OTHER DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR OPERATION OR MAINTENANCE OF ANY ITEM IN THE CONTRACTORS
WORK.
14. THESE CONSTRUCTION NOTES AND/OR DRAWINGS ARE SUPPLIED TO ILLUSTRATE THE DESIGN AND
GENERAL TYPE OF CONSTRUCTION DESIRED AND ARE INTENDED TO IMPLY THE FINEST QUALITY OF
CONSTRUCTION, MATERIAL AND WORKMANSHIP THROUGHOUT.
15. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN A CURRENT AND COMPLETE SET OF CONSTRUCTION
DRAWINGS ON THE SITE DURING ALL PHASES OF CONSTRUCTION FOR USE OF ALL TRADES.
16. ALL MEANS OF EGRESS AND FIRE PROTECTION SHALL BE MAINTAINED AT ALL TIMES -ANY SHUT DOWN
OF LIFE SAFETY OR BUILDING SYSTEMS SHALL BE APPROVED AND COORDINATED IN ADVANCE WITH THE
OWNER AND LOCAL BUILDING DEPARTMENT.
17. ALL DIMENSIONS ARE FROM FACE TO FACE OF CONCRETE, MASONRY, OR STUDS UNLESS OTHERWISE
NOTED.
18. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROTECT ALL EXISTING AND NEW MATERIALS AND FINISHES FROM DAMAGE
WHICH MAY OCCUR FROM CONSTRUCTION, DEMOLITION, PAINT, DUST, WATER, ET.C ALL SUCH DAMAGE
SHALL BE REPAIRED OR REPLACED TO THE SATISFACTION OF THE ARCHITECT AND OWNER AT THE
CONTRACTOR'S EXPENSE.
19. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE ALL PHASES AND TIMING OF CONSTRUCTION WITH
ARCHITECT, SUBCONTRACTORS, BUILDING OWNER, AND TENANTS.
20. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE A THOROUGH CLEAN-UP AT CLOSE-OUT, INCLUDING
VACUUMING AND CLEANING ALL CARPETING.
21. PROVIDE WOOD BLOCKING IN WALLS AS REQUIRED FOR ALL WALL-SUPPORTED ITEMS. SEE DRAWINGS
FOR CASEWORK ITEMS.
CASEWORK GENERAL NOTES
1. ALL DRAWER PULLS (IF APPLICABLE) TO BE CONTRACTOR SUPPLIED AND INSTALLED. VERIFY STYLE WITH
ARCHITECT PRIOR TO DRILLING HOLES FOR ATTACHMENT.
2. PROVIDE FILLER PANELS AT ALL CASEWORK LOCATIONS BUTTING INTO WALL CONSTRUCTION. MINIMUM
FILLER SIZE TO BE 1". MAXIMUM FILLER SIZE TO BE 3". FIELD VERIFY.
3. STANDARD COUNTERTOP DEPTH TO BE 25" INCLUDING BACKSPLASH, UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE.
PROVIDE BACKSPLASH AND SIDESPLASH AT WALL JUNCTIONS.
4. APPLY COLOR -MATCHED SEALANT AT ALL COUNTERTOP AND BACKSPLASH JUNCTURES AND AROUND
PLUMBING FIXTURE JUNCTURES.
5. INSTALL CASEWORK AND FINISH CARPENTRY PLUMB, LEVEL, TRUE AND STRAIGHT WITH NO DISTORTIONS.
6. ALL CABINETS WITH EXPOSED SIDES SHALL HAVE FINISHED END PANELS.
7. COMPLY WITH ARCHITECTURAL WOODWORK INSTITUTE (A.W.I.) CURRENT STANDARDS.
8. FURNISH SHOP DRAWINGS ON ALL MILLWORK AND CASEWORK FOR APPROVAL BY ARCHITECT PRIOR TO
FABRICATION.
9. FIELD VERIFY ALL DIMENSIONS PRIOR TO FABRICATION.
10. PROVIDE BLOCKING IN WALLS BEHIND WALL-SUPPORTED ITEMS LIKE TOWEL BARS, TOWEL RINGS, TOILET
PAPER HOLDERS, AND CABINETRY.
11. ALL COUNTERTOPS SHALL BE STONE WITH EASED EDGES. STONE TO BE SELECTED BY OWNER. PROVIDE
SIDE AND BACK SPLASHES AT WALLS NOT TO RECEIVE WALL TILE.
12. ADDITIONAL COUNTERTOP SUPPORT AT ISLANDS SHALL BE PROVIDED BY CABINET MOUNTED BRACKET
SIMILAR TO "IB" BY CENTERLINE STEEL.
13. FINISH AND STYLE OF CABINETS AND ACCESSORIES TO BE SELECTED BY OWNER.

1. PROVIDE COST TO SUPPLY AND INSTALL BLINDS IN ALL WINDOWS. HUNTER DOUGLAS "EVER WOOD
RENDITIONS" ALTERNATIVE WOOD BLINDS OR EQUAL. 2" WIDE SLATS, FAUX WOOD FINISH TO BE
SELECTED BY OWNER FROM MANUFACTURER'S STANDARD COLORS.
2. PROVIDE COST TO WRAP WINDOW JAMBS, HEAD, AND STOOL WITH 3/4" MDF, PAINTED. ALSO FRAME
