CARMEL CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES
THURSDAY, JULY 13, 2000 - 8:30 A.M.
COUNCIL CHAMBERS / CITY HALL / ONE CIVIC SQUARE
MEMBERS PRESENT:
Council President Norm Rundie, Councilors, John Koven, Bob Battreall, Luci Snyder, Ron Cartcr and
Wayne Wilson. Clerk-Treasurer Diana Cordray and Deputy Clerk Carde Groce also artended. Mayor
James Brainard and Councilor Kevin Kirby were absent.
Council President Norm Rundie called the meeting to order at 8:31 a.m.
CLAIMS:
Councilor Snyder moved to approve Claims in the amounts of $245,495.58, $1,089,388.44, $21,740.67,
$281,293.97 and $1,121,762.14. Councilor Carter seconded. The claims were approved 6-0.
OTHER BUSINESS:
Councilor Snyder announced the resignation of one of the members of the Cable TV Advisory
Committee and recommended to the Council that John Hart, a resident and business owner in the City of
Carmel, be placed on the Committee. Councilor Koven seconded. The appointment of John Hart to the
Cable TV Advisory Committee was approved 6-0.
Clerk-Treasurer Diana Cordray recommended the Council consider the September calendar for
scheduled Council Meetings due to the deadlines necessary for publishing notices for both the budget
approvals and annexations. Since the first meeting of the Council falls on the Labor Day holiday on
Monday, September 4, 2000, the Council meeting was cancelled and a claims meeting was scheduled for
Tuesday, September 5, 2000. Therefore, allowing only one regular Council meeting in the month of
September, on the 18th, to contend with a sizeable agenda. An additional, regular meeting of the Council
was recommended for the first week in September to take the place of the claims meeting. Councilor
Snyder moved to approve an additional meeting of the Council on Wednesday, September 6, 2000 and
the cancellation of the claims meeting scheduled for Tuesday, September 5, 2000. Councilor Battreall
seconded. The cancellation of the claims meeting scheduled for Tuesday, September 5, 2000, at 8:30
a.m. and the scheduling of a regular meeting of the Carmel City Council to be held on Wednesday,
September 6, 2000, at 7:00 p.m. in Council Chambers was approved 6-0.
EXECUTION OF DOCUMENTS
ADJOURNMENT:
Council President Rundie entertained a motion to move for adjournment. Councilor Koven moved to
adjoum the meeting. Councilor Snyder seconded. The meeting was adjourned at 8:44 a.m.
