Weiss, Ice Miller Donadio & Ryan *published ill the Daily Ledger on August 25, 1999 EXECUTION OF DOCUMENTS 4. ADJOURNMENT CARMEL CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 21, 1999, 8:30 A.M. COUNCIL CHAMBERS / CITY HALL / ONE CIVIC SQUARE MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor Jim Brainard; Council President Luci Snyder; Councilors Kevin Kirby, John Koven, Bob Battreall, Norm Rundle. Clerk-Treasurer Diana L. Cordray and Deputy Clerk Robin Butler also attended. Councilors Ron Carter and Billy Walker were absent. CLAIMS: Councilor Rundle moved to approve claims in the amounts of $523,458.18 and $102,667.40. Council President Snyder seconded. The claims were approved 4-0. Councilor Battreall abstained because he was out of town and just picked up his packet that morning. OLD BUSINESS: Second Reading of Ordinance Z-338; An Ordinance Establishing the Providence at Old Meridian Planned Unit Development District: Council President Snyder explained that this issue was put on the agenda of the Special Meeting to extend the developer' s fall construction an extra two weeks. Mayor Brainard asked what the intentions were of the Development regarding the portion of the property that is not within City limits. A representative of Buckingham Properties, Inc. stated it was their intention to proceed with voluntary annexation immediately. Ordinance Z-338 was approved 5-0. OTHER: Clerk-Treasurer Diana Cordray addressed the Council regarding the mileage reimbursement rate. She stated that is now up to each City to determine the rate at which City employees will be reimbursed for mileage. She proposed that the Council adopt a resolution to set that rate. After some Council discussion, Councilors Kirby and Koven both recommended that we adopt an ordinance which states the City of Carmel will reimburse at the IRS rate, reviewed yearly. Council President Snyder addressed the Council regarding the salaries of Council members. ADJOURNMENT: Councilor Rundle moved to adjourn the meeting pending execution of documents.
