Jason,
As the attached aerial shows, a 30 inch RCP is located about 6 feet from the building that is to be demolished. Our office
would not require permitting for the demolition of the building but we would like clarification as to whether or not the
plan is to replace the building with a structure located anywhere within the existing footprint? This would require a
nonenforcement from our office for encroachment into the 75 foot easement also shown in the aerial.
If the building is not to be replaced, will gravel be placed in the empty area?

Jason,
The demolition is on a parcel in a Brownfields area and is directly adjacent to a recent demo/soil remediation project for
a former launderer. Prior environmental assessments and easements have identified soil contamination on the parcel
(see attached). The attached documents detail construction procedures and notifications to IDEM to be followed prior
to earthwork. Is the demolition only for the structure or will slab and pavement be removed? If so, have the proper
federal/state environmental investigations, coordination’s, and permits been completed for this phase of work?
Sincerely,
John Thomas, CPESC, CPMSM
