HomeMy WebLinkAboutCarmel Water/Gradle Bros ConstAGREEMENT This agreement, by and between the Town of Ca'~m~l, Indiana for and on behalf o£ the Carmel Water Utility, hereinafter called "Town", and Gt~ADLE Bt~OTHEP~S CONSTRUCTION CO., of Carmel, Indiana, hereinafter called "Gradle", WITNESSETH: WHEI{EAS, on August 4, 1970 Gradle submitted unit prices to the Town in response to advertising for bids to construct and install a 10"water- main through the apartment complex on the north side of l'16th St. between Keystone Ave. and Westfield Boulevard southward along Woodland Country Club, east drive to connect with the Country Club, including oversizing thereon, and WHEREAS, a portion of the cost of this installation is to be paid for by the Town and a portion by the Woodland Country Club but Gradle will look to the Town for payment, and WHEI{EAS, an additional extension of a 10" watermain is to be installed by Gradle southward from the present terminus on Canada Dry Lane to connect with the existing I0" watermain at Taggart Industrial Park, NOW THEi%EFOP~E it is agreed as follows: 1) Gradle will oversize approximately 1200 ft. of waterline within the apartment complex described and referred to above, said ore,sizing to be from 6" to 10" at a cost of $2.68 per foot for the oversizing, including fittings, and Z) Gradle will install approximately 260 ft. of 10" water main parallel to and north of ll6th St. at a cost of $6.68 per foot, including fittings, 3) Gradle will construct 1200 ft., n~ore or less, of 10" water main along Woodland Country Club, east drive, in accordance with plans to be prepared by the Town's engineers. Cost of this installation will be $6.68 per ft:. , including fittings. In addition, Gradle will be paid for granular backfill and pavement replacement at all street and driveway crossings. Gradie will also be paid ~for hydrants and vaives, as specified, all at the unit prices Submitted in Gradle's bid to the Town on August 4, 1970.~n the above construction. 4/ Gradle will construct a 10'~ water, main ~rom the existing terminus of the 10"water main at Wood Wire Products Co;, Inc. on Canada Dry Lane in Carmel, Indiana, ~southward across the Wohlman property, which is approximately 594.0 ft., across the Erich Mueller property, which is approxi- mately 1188 ft., and across the Gradle Industrial Park, which is approximately 2200 ft., terminating at the 10"main on the east side of the Mononl~ailroad right-of-way at the Taggert Industrial Park. For the extension described in this paragraph, the Town will purchase all pipe, valves, hydrants and fittings used on this waterline extension and will, in addition, pay the sum of $990 for boring and the necessary casing to go under the Monon t~ailro~d. Gradle agrees that if the Town will furnish such material and pay such costs, the installation of the line,, together with all hydrants, valves and necessary fittings will be performed by Gradle at no cost therefor to the Town. In addition to the above items, the Town will provide plans and speci- fications, all required easements and the permit for boring under the Monon l{ailroad. Gradle agrees to provide to the Town, at no cost, a utility easement across the Gradle Industrial Park to acconxodate the installation described he reinabove. -Z- ~Vitness our hands and seals this // day of August, I970.
