Providing false information constitutes an act of perjury, which is a Class D felony punishable by a prison term and a fine up to $10,000. The plans, specifications and application submitted for the above referenced project have been reviewed for compliance with the applicable rules of the Fire Prevention and Building Safety Commission. The project is released for construction subject to, but not necessarily limited to, the conditions listed below. THIS IS NOT A BUILDING PERMIT. All required local permits and licenses must be obtained prior to beginning construction work. All construction work must be in full compliance with all applicable State rules. Any changes in the released plans and/or specifications must be filed with and released by this Office before any work is altered. This release may be suspended or revoked if it is determined to be issued in error, in violation of any rules of the Commission or if it is based on incorrect or insufficient information. This release shall expire by limitation, and become null and void, if the work authorized is not commenced within one (1) year from the above date. The proposed building, addition, or remodel shall not put the existing building in noncompliance or into further noncompliance in accordance with 675 IAC 12-4-12. Detailed plans and specifications of the fire suppression system shall be filed with the required application and appropriate fees in accordance with 675 IAC 12-6-3(a), 675 IAC 12-6-7(g)(17), and 675 IAC 13-1-8. NOTE: Fire wall continuity shall be in accordance with Sections 706.5 and 706.6, IBC. Fire walls and vertical fire barriers shall be effectively and permanently identified with signs or stenciling. Such identification shall: 1. Be located in accessible concealed floor, floor-ceiling or attic spaces; 2. Be located within 15 feet of the end of each wall and at intervals not exceeding 30 feet measured horizontally along the wall or partition; and 3. Include lettering not less than 3 inches in height with a minimum 3/8 inch stroke in a contrasting color incorporating the suggested wording, "FIRE WALL or FIRE BARRIER PROTECT ALL OPENINGS" or similar wording in accordance with Section 703.7, IBC (675 IAC 13-2.6). Floor assemblies separating mixed occupancies shall be in accordance with Section 711.3, IBC (675 IAC 13-2.6). NOTE: Pedestrian walkways shall meet the construction, separation and design parameters in accordance with Section 3104, IBC. Atriums shall be designed and constructed in accordance with Section 404, IBC (675 IAC 13-2.6). NOTE: Enclosure of atrium shall comply with Section 404.6 IBC. This release does not include the required fire alarm system installation. Plans and specifications for adding or remodeling this system shall be filed as a new project or as a partial before commencing work, in accordance with 675 IAC 12-6-3. Fire dampers, smoke dampers, combination fire/smoke dampers, and ceiling radiation dampers shall be provided in accordance with Section 717.2 through Section 717.7, IBC (675 IAC 13-2.6). Smoke alarms shall be installed in Group R-1 occupancies in accordance with Section 907.2.11.1, IBC (675 IAC 13-2.6). NOTE: Atriums connecting more than two stories shall be provided a fire alarm system including smoke detection thoughout the atrium, system acivated in accordance with Section 907.5, per Section 907.2.14 IFC. Exit access travel distance shall be in accordance with Table 1016.2, IBC (675 IAC 13-2.6). NOTE: Travel distance shall comply with Section 404.9 IBC with regard to atrium. An elevator installation permit shall be obtained from the Elevator Safety Division in accordance with IESC (675 IAC 21-1-1). Penetrations between machine rooms and hoistways necessary for the safe operation of an elevator, and vents required by Section 3004 of this code need not be fire-rated in accordance with Section 903.3.1.1.1.4, IBC (675 IAC 13-2.6). Fire-resistance-rated corridors shall be continuous from the point of entry to an exit, and shall not be interrupted by intervening rooms in accordance with Section 1018.6, IBC (675 IAC 13-2.6). Once a given level of exit protection is achieved, such level of exit protection shall not be reduced until arrival at the exit discharge, in accordance with Section 1020.1, IBC (675 IAC 13-2.6). Openings in fire walls shall be protected assemblies in accordance with Section 716.5 and Table 716.5, IBC (675 IAC 13-2.6). Entrance doors in a means of egress in buildings with an occupancy in Groups A, B, E, I-2, M, R-1 or R-2, and entrance doors to tenant spaces in occupancies in Groups A, B, E, I-2, M, R-1 or R-2, are permitted to be equipped with an approved entrance and egress access control system, listed in accordance with UL 294, which shall be installed and operate in accordance with items 1 through 6, in accordance with Section 1008.1.9.8, IBC (675 IAC 13-2.6). Sprinklers are being provided for this project to increase the number of story levels or 20 feet above Table 503 in accordance with Section 504.2, IBC (675 IAC 13-2.6). No portion of this project shall exceed six stories. The proposed building shall comply with conditions of Section 510.2 regarding horizontal building separation allowance. The Fire Prevention and Building Safety Commission has granted one or more variances which apply to this project. 21-12-62. Pursuant to 675 IAC 12-6-21, the issuance of a design release does not relieve the owner from required compliance with all applicable rules of the commission, even if noncompliant conditions appear in the plans and specifications that have been filed with the division. The owner is responsible for correcting any and all areas of noncompliance even if they are discovered subsequent to the issuing of this design release. This order is effective upon service.
