4.04(a), 4.05(c), 4.09(b) AND .THE DELETION OF 4.09(d)
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of Carmel to amend Section
4.04(a) to increase the amount of the meter deposits, and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of Carmel to amend Section
4.05(c) to change the disconnect time from 30 days to 60 days, and
WHEREAS, it is [~{n the best interest o2 the City of Carmel to amend Section
4.09(b) and to delete' Section 4.09(d), to apply the meter deposit to all' past due
water service fees, and the balance to all past due sewer fees.
~ NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED that Ordinances 4.04(a), 4.05 (c), and 4.09(b)
are hereby amended to read as follows:
., 4.04(a) Meter Dep.o,sit,s and' Tap~in~ Fees - Meter D. eposits:
Remote Mete~ - $ 40.00
5/8 Inch Meter - 40.00
1 Inch,Meter- . 60.00
1-1/2 inch Meter'- 100.00
2 Inch Meter - 150.00
Tapping fees shall be as set forth in Section 4.05.
If dual meters are installed in a single meter pit, there shall be added the
cost of m~terials and labor necessary to increase the size of the pit to
accommodate the additional meters.
The schedule of fees set forth above apply where the length of pipe from the
main to the ~eter pit is not'over 25 feet. If this length is exceeded, add
the following:
Labor (by the hour) at the rate currently paid during construction.
Machinery (at the current hourly rental rate)..
Parts and materials involved over 25 feet.
4.05(c)' Disconnection for Nonpayment. Water service shall be disc~nnected
from those water customers of Carmel who fail to pay .the accrued fees and
late charges within 60 days of billing.
4.09(b) · Water meter deposits will first be applied to final billings
for water service, and the balance will be applied to any past due sewer
fee. Any and all deposits collected prior to this ordinance 'shall be
applied in the same manner as stated above.
4.09(d) This sectio~ shall be deleted from the of Carmel City Code.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED thac said ordinances 4.04(a), 4.05(c), 4.09(b) and the
deletion of 4.09(d) of the Carmel City be made and accepted, modified, amended and
deleted specifically a~ set out herein .and that all other provisions of said
ordinanhe shall remain in full force and e£fect and that amendments to this
ordinance and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage.
