THECONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR OBTAINING PUBLIC AND/ORPRIVATE UTILITY LOCATING SERVICES PRIOR TO STARTING CONSTRUCTION.4.THE SIZE AND LOCATIONS OF THE UTILITIES INDICATED ON THESE PLANSARE APPROXIMATE. THE CONTRACTOR IS TO DETERMINE AND FIELD VERIFYALL HORIZONTAL AND VERTICAL LOCATIONS PRIOR TO STARTINGCONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES.5.ANY DISCREPANCIES OR CONFLICTS WHICH BECOME APPARENT BEFOREOR DURING CONSTRUCTION SHALL BE BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OFTHE ENGINEER OF RECORD PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION SO THAT REDESIGNOR CLARIFICATION MAY OCCUR.6.CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY EXISTING CONDITIONS PRIOR TOCOMMENCING WITH WORK. NOTIFY THE CITY OF ANY DISCREPANCYBETWEEN THE PLANS AND ACTUAL SITE CONDITIONS. NO WORK SHALL BEDONE IN AREAS WHERE SUCH DISCREPANCIES EXIST. THE CONTRACTORSHALL ASSUME FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR ALL NECESSARY REVISIONS DUETO FAILURE TO GIVE SUCH NOTIFICATION.7.CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE ALL NECESSARY SAFETY MEASURES DURINGCONSTRUCTION OPERATIONS TO PROTECT THE PUBLIC ACCORDING TO ALLAPPLICABLE CODES AND RECOGNIZED LOCAL PRACTICES.8.CONTRACTOR IS REQUIRED TO TAKE DUE PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES TOPROTECT THE UTILITY LINES SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS AS WELL AS ANYDISCOVERED DURING THE CONSTRUCTION PROCESS.9.THE LIMIT OF CONSTRUCTION LINE SHOWN DEFINES THE LIMITS OF WORKIN THIS CONTRACT. THERE MAY BE INSTANCES WHERE EROSIONPROTECTION DEVICES AND UTILITY SYSTEMS EXTEND BEYOND THEPROJECT LIMITS LINE IN ORDER TO SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETEOPERATIONS AND/OR TIE INTO ADJACENT SYSTEMS.10.THE CONTRACTOR SHALL KEEP ALL DRAINAGE FACILITIES AFFECTED BYTHE CONSTRUCTION OPERATIONS CLEAN AND FULLY OPERATIONAL AT ALLTIMES.11.MAINTAIN ALL EXISTING EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL MEASURES(SILT FENCE, ORANGE GEO FENCE AND/OR OTHER MEASURES) DURINGCONSTRUCTION. PROVIDE ADDITIONAL MEASURES AS NECESSARY TOMINIMIZE ADVERSE IMPACTS TO THE ADJACENT WATER BODIES, SURFACESAND STORM SEWERS ACCORDING TO ALL APPLICABLE FEDERAL/STATELAWS AND REGULATIONS. SEE CIVIL PLANS FOR FULL EROSION CONTROLMEASURES AND MAINTENANCE DURING CONSTRUCTION.12.CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY EXISTING CONDITIONS PRIOR TOCOMMENCING WITH WORK. NOTIFY THE CITY OF CARMEL OF ANYDISCREPANCY BETWEEN THE PLANS AND ACTUAL SITE CONDITIONS. NOWORK SHALL BE DONE IN AREAS WHERE SUCH DISCREPANCIES EXIST. THECONTRACTOR SHALL ASSUME FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR ALL NECESSARYREVISIONS DUE TO FAILURE TO GIVE SUCH NOTIFICATION.13.REPORT ALL EXISTING DAMAGE OF EXISTING SITE IMPROVEMENTS PRIORTO BEGINNING WORK. CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALLSUBSEQUENT DAMAGE. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROTECT, BY WHATEVERMEANS NECESSARY, THE EXISTING SITE IMPROVEMENTS TO REMAIN. ALLDAMAGED ITEMS SHALL BE REPLACED OR REPAIRED AT NO ADDITIONALCOST TO THE OWNER. NOTIFY THE CITY OF TERRE HAUTE IMMEDIATELY IFANY DAMAGE OCCURS.14.ALL AREAS WITHIN THE DRIPLINES OF EXISTING TREES TO REMAIN FREE OFCONSTRUCTION MATERIALS, DEBRIS, VEHICLES AND FOOT TRAFFIC AT ALLTIMES. SEE DEMOLITION SHEETS FOR TREE PROTECTION INFORMATION.15.CONTRACTORS SHALL COORDINATE ALL WORK WITH RELATED TRADES ANDTHE GENERAL CONSTRUCTION OF THE PROJECT SO AS NOT TO IMPEDE THEPROGRESS OF THE WORK OF OTHERS OR THE CONTRACTOR'S OWN WORK.16.EACH CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY THE CONDITION AND COMPLETENESSOF ALL WORK PERFORMED BY OTHERS IN RELATION TO HIS/HER PROJECTWORK RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDING THE CHECKING OF EXISTINGELEVATIONS OR STRUCTURES PRIOR TO INITIATING CONSTRUCTION.
