Please do not forget that we need the amended plan because the wall was moved from the original location. Please include the permit number and/or address in order to properly file the amendments. Jim ochs -----Original Message----- From: Mackarchitects@aol.com [mailto: Mackarchitects@aol.com] Sent: Monday, January 23, 2006 11:20 AM To: Ochs, James A Cc: cremenschneider@fhai.com Subject: Southeastern Aluminum Products Dear Mr. Ochs, This e-mail is in response to your concerns regarding the demising wall on the above project. I have reviewed Ihe structural aspects of this demising wall with our structural engineer, Ray Stone, P.E., of Stone Engineering HIs comments are as follows: 1). The existing 6" concrete slab is more than adaquate to support the 460 Ib/lf weight of the demising wall. 2) The maximum deflection of the fully loaded bar joist affects only 7 I/f of the middle span of the bar joist/demising wall juncture. We are therefore proposing to lower an 8 I/f section of the steel stud plate a minimum of 3/4" at the middle of each span (below the joist) and fill it with an expansive material and slip fastners at at those portions of wall. The top of the gyp. bd./ metal deck juncture would be stuffed with fiberglass insulation. I believe this should take care of the structural issues you have listed. If you have any additional questions or comments please let me know. James P. Mack, R.A. President Mack Architects. P.C.
