HomeMy WebLinkAboutPacket for HO 03-28-22Proposal for Short Term Rental at 58 Wilson Drive
It is my desire to continue offer 58 Wilson Drive to the short-term rental market on
occasion as we have for the last two years.
In March 2019, 2020 and 2021the City of Carmel granted me the
special exception to host short term rentals. It has been a very
positive overall experience for us, my neighbors and the guests
who wish to experience the City of Carmel. There have been no
negative issues.
Guests have been very respectful of our house rules and the
neighborhood. Our last guest was a family with a youth who sang at
Tarkington Theater. Our current guest is a young woman who sold her
house, but has not bought a new one due to the market shortage. She also
has a nursing home therapy dog and needed a place that is dog-friendly.
In December we hosted someone who needed a home while she exhibited
at the Christkindlmarket. We enjoyed getting to know her family (plus 2
huge dogs). I learn bits and pieces our guests lives; most are a family unit
that want a family home (especially one that welcomes dogs).
My home has acted as a warm home-away-from-home for others. This
brings me joy.
I am vigilant. I closely monitor my property when we have guests with regular
communications and outdoor cameras. I also make myself available to fix any
immediate issue that could arise at the house. We have a strict policy against parties
or parking on the street. We also require an evening curfew on noise.
I would like to share 58 Wilson in the same manner of mutual and mindful respect.
