As you requested, 1 inspected the fuuning in the garage of this home under COnstructiOlL The framing of
the house resulted in the stud wall on the east side of the garage overhanging the foundation wall for
distances ranging fiom % to I Y, inches. For most of the 33-foot wall, the overhang is about one inch.
The bottom of the plate is about 5 }Ii inches above the garage floor.
Your suggestion to attach short lengths of treated 2 x 65 to the wall under each stud will provide the
necessary strength and stability to the wall. Each piece should be cut to fit snugly between floor and
bottom plate.
