The subject site contains 1 acre on the south side of West 136th Street, 0.3 miles west of Ditch Road. The site currently has a single-family residence that will be demolished. Most of the existing gravel drive will be reused. Existing Conditions The property is currently mowed lawn with a few trees. Stormwater runoff from the property flow to the northeast from a high point at the rear of the property. Proposed Conditions The proposed project includes a 4,198 square foot residence, 462 square feet of concrete walks, and 1,359 square feet of concrete drive. A dry detention basin is proposed at the north east corner of the building. The basin will collect runoff from the north and east sides of the building. Roof downspouts will be routed to dry detention basin. The total area draining to the detention basin is 0.295 acres. The 100 year allowable release rates from the site based on the 0.3 cfs per acre requirement of Section 302.03 of the Manual is 0.09 cfs. The 10 year allowable release rates from the site based on the 0.1 cfs per acre requirement of Section 302.03 of the Manual is 0.03 cfs. Weighted runoff coefficients (c) were chosen for the drainage area for the proposed conditions. The weighted average runoff coefficient for the proposed condition was determined to be 0.48. Detention Storage Volumes for the 10 and 100 year storm were determined using the Rational Method. Rainfall Intensities were determined using Table 201-2 of the Manual. The maximum required storage volume was determined to be 1,285 cft. 04/18/22 1717 W 136th Street Page 3 Drainage Report 3/31/22 The 6” minimum orifice defined in Section 300.06.7 is too large to provide any detention for a site this small. A 2’ section of 4” perforated HDPE covered with #5 river rock will be used to restrict the stormwater release from the basin. HydroCAD was used to develop Stage-Storage-Discharge curves for the basin and outlet device. The basin will reach the design detention volume at a water surface elevation of 897.35. At this depth, the discharge rate of the proposed release structure tile was determined to be 0.09 cfs. 04/18/22 Project: Date: Cover Description Runoff Coefficient Area Product c x A Grass 0.15 6,870 1030.5 Roof 0.85 4,198 3568.3 Drive way 0.85 1,359 1155.15 Walks 0.85 462 392.7 12,889 6146.65 Weighted c= 0.48 c= 0.48 A= 0.296 Allowable release = 0.09 Return Period 100 yr Time of Conc Time of Conc Intensity (Developed) Peak Discharge (Developed) Allowable Discharge Storage Rate Storage Volume Storage Volume Tc Tc Id Qd Qu S=Qd-Qu V=S*Tc(hr)/12 V Min Hrs In/hr cfs cfs cfs Ac-ft cft 5 0.08 9.12 1.30 0.09 1.21 0.01 365.11 10 0.17 7.78 1.11 0.09 1.02 0.01 615.03 15 0.25 6.77 0.96 0.09 0.87 0.02 792.32 20 0.33 5.99 0.85 0.09 0.76 0.02 922.33 30 0.50 4.84 0.69 0.09 0.60 0.02 1,086.94 40 0.67 4.05 0.58 0.09 0.49 0.03 1,177.63 50 0.83 3.47 0.49 0.09 0.40 0.03 1,222.76 60 1.00 3.03 0.43 0.09 0.34 0.03 1,240.38 90 1.50 2.24 0.32 0.09 0.23 0.03 1,249.41 120 2 1.87 0.27 0.09 0.18 0.03 1,284.22 PEAK 180 3 1.42 0.20 0.09 0.11 0.03 1,230.06 240 4 1.15 0.16 0.09 0.07 0.02 1,083.08 300 5 0.97 0.14 0.09 0.05 0.02 889.67 360 6 0.85 0.12 0.09 0.03 0.02 696.26 420 7 0.75 0.11 0.09 0.02 0.01 451.28 480 8 0.67 0.10 0.09 0.01 0.00 185.67 540 9 0.61 0.09 0.09 (0.00) (0.00) (69.63) 600 10 0.56 0.08 0.09 (0.01) (0.01) (335.24) 720 12 0.48 0.07 0.09 (0.02) (0.02) (897.41) 840 14 0.42 0.06 0.09 (0.03) (0.03) (1,480.20) 960 16 0.38 0.05 0.09 (0.03) (0.05) (2,021.74) 1080 18 0.34 0.05 0.09 (0.04) (0.06) (2,645.80) 1200 20 0.31 0.04 0.09 (0.04) (0.07) (3,249.23) 1440 24 0.27 0.04 0.09 (0.05) (0.10) (4,394.19) Runoff Coefficient and Runoff Calculations 136th street March 31, 2022 04/18/22 c=0.48 A=0.296 Allowable release =0.03 Return Period 10 yr Time of Conc Time of Conc Intensity (Developed) Peak Discharge Allowable Discharge Storage Rate Storage Volume Storage Volume Tc Tc Id Qd Qa S V V Min Hrs In/hr cfs cfs cfs Ac-ft cft 5 0.08 6.12 0.87 0.03 0.84 0.01 254.08 10 0.17 5.22 0.74 0.03 0.71 0.01 430.79 15 0.25 4.55 0.65 0.03 0.62 0.01 559.80 20 0.33 4.02 0.57 0.03 0.54 0.02 655.29 30 0.50 3.25 0.46 0.03 0.43 0.02 784.37 40 0.67 2.71 0.39 0.03 0.36 0.02 860.16 50 0.83 2.33 0.33 0.03 0.30 0.02 911.88 60 1.00 2.03 0.29 0.03 0.26 0.02 939.53 90 1.50 1.42 0.20 0.03 0.17 0.02 937.38 120 2 1.11 0.16 0.03 0.13 0.02 930.07 180 3 0.84 0.12 0.03 0.09 0.02 977.35 240 4 0.68 0.10 0.03 0.07 0.02 973.05 300 5 0.58 0.08 0.03 0.05 0.02 958.44 360 6 0.5 0.07 0.03 0.04 0.02 902.56 420 7 0.44 0.06 0.03 0.03 0.02 836.38 480 8 0.4 0.06 0.03 0.03 0.02 790.82 540 9 0.36 0.05 0.03 0.02 0.02 704.00 600 10 0.33 0.05 0.03 0.02 0.01 627.50 720 12 0.29 0.04 0.03 0.01 0.01 505.44 840 14 0.25 0.04 0.03 0.01 0.01 300.85 960 16 0.23 0.03 0.03 0.00 0.00 178.79 1080 18 0.2 0.03 0.03 (0.00) (0.00) (77.36) 1200 20 0.19 0.03 0.03 (0.00) (0.00) (189.11) 1440 24 0.16 0.02 0.03 (0.01) (0.01) (598.27) Runoff Coefficient and Runoff Calculations 04/18/22 CARMEL,IN 100-Year Duration=20 min, Inten=5.99 in/hr1717 w 136th Printed 4/4/2022Prepared by Michael S.
