We are planning on building an attached two car garage that will face our existing driveway at a 90 degree angle to our existing garage. The new structure will be internally accessible through our laundry room. Out of courtesy to you, we are enclosing the preliminary drawings of our addition so you have an idea what we are planning. (Note there are no turrets or flashing lights.) The addition will be constructed of brick and designed to architecturally match our house's exterior. Carmel zoning regulations require that before beginning this addition, we must seek a zoning variance since the added garage will encroach upon the ten foot property line set-back between our house and Stevenson's. The regulations require that we send notice of our application for a zoning variance and notice of the hearing at which the variance will be considered to our neighbors owning property within a certain radius of our home. You are within that radius. If you have any objection to the variance, you will need to voice your objection at the hearing. The hearing on our application will take place at 5: 15 p.m. in the City Hall Caucus Rooms, 1 Civic Square, Carmel, Indiana 46032 on February 27,2006.
