Re: BZA Docket Nos. PZ-2022-00065 V: Alhassoon Porch Setback Variance.
Dear Ms. Alhassoon:
At the meeting held on Monday, May 23, 2022, the Carmel Board of Zoning Appeals Hearing Officer took the
following action regarding the Development Standards Variance (V) request filed by you for the property located at
13108 Harrison Drive:
APPROVED with Conditions: Alhassoon Porch - Development Standards Variance approval for:
• Docket No. PZ-2022-00065 V: Open, unenclosed porches (not under roof) or patios may extend 10-ft into a
front yard, 7-ft encroachment granted for a patio with roof / pergola,
• Conditions: The Petitioner finalizes all required permits and inspections from Carmel Building Safety
Dept., and the Petitioner pays any outstanding fees / late fees required by the Carmel Building Safety Dept.
Please be advised that per Article 9.15 of the Unified Development Ordinance, the aforementioned Development
Standards Variance approval is valid for three (3) years. By that time, either continuous construction of the
improvements must be underway, or a written request for a one-time, six-month extension of the approval must
have been received and approval granted by this Department. The expiration date of the approval is May 23, 2025.
Please include a copy of this letter with any permit application.
