discharge it direclly into the upstream end of the ditch port of the Dunn Ditch. The Dunn Ditch
Regulated Drain then discharges into the Joy Ditch watershed.

I. Construction Equipment
A. Fueling, lubricating, ond fluids: All operations in",l~g the odditiOll of fluids to equipment should be done in one location. os designated 011 Sheet
C3.1, so that spills are iimiled to one location on the site, which will facilitate the cleanup of spills. If on onsite fueling tonk is planned to be 011 site, it
shall be double walled ond stored in this designated areo. This location is an area that will not allow sp~led fuDds to migrate into subsurface so~s. In the
event of a spm, the fluids shall immediately be cleaned up by removing the contaminated soil or stone which sholl be disposed of in an acceptable monner.
SpUls on hard surfaces shall be soaked up by on occeptable material such os m Dry and Ihe absorbent materiai disposed of in a proper manner. The soD
shall also be reported immerflOlely to the Cootractor's superintendent.
B. Equipment repa~, especially when fluids must be removed from the equipment or the possib~ity of fluid spills is high, should always be done offsite 01

the open on the construction site.
2. Construction Materials and the~ Packaging
A. Erosion control measures shown on these plans shall be implemented prior to and during construction in the proper sequencing to minimize soil
erosiOll. ErosiOll contral shall be inspected ond maintained os described elsewhere in these plans, Excessive dusting of soil an the site sholl be minimized by
reducing construction traffic ocross bore soU during dry and/or windy weother, ond by opplying water or other acceptable dust cOlltrol measures to the soD.
Upon completion of construction and suitable establishment of permanent vegetation, temporary erosion control measures such os sat fence, check dams
and inlet protection de~ces shall be removed in 0 manner to minimize additional land disturbance. Any areas disturbed by these operations shali be properiy
revegetated.
B. Large waste materials creoled by cutting, sawing. drilling. or other operations shall be properly disposed of in suitable onsite waste cantainers. The
site sholl be checked at the end of the day, os 0 minimum, and 011 waste materials, including those blown across or off the site by wind, sholl be picked
up and disposed 01 in suitoble cootainers. Where possible. operations such as sowing, that creote small particles should be performed in OIle spot in an
oreo protected from wind. and waste particles collected and sidposed of frequentiy to minimize wind disposal. Packoging used to transport materials to the
site for construction of the facility sholl be disposed of properly, whether the material is token out of its package and incorporated into the project
immediately or stored onsite for future use. Packaged materials stored onsite sholi be inspected regularty and ony loose packaging shall be repaired ar
disposed of property.
C. All dewatering of acti~ties sholl be dOlle in accordance to good erosiOll cOlltrol practices. These practices should include the use of dirt bags such os
Dandy Dirt Bages. The use of these t)'Pes of dewatering devices will remove large quantities of sediment and dirt and prevent these materials to enter the
storm sewer system.
D. If the use of Jime is used to stabilize the soil of the site then all construction equipment used sholl be cleaned of 011 excess materials with water in
the maintenance and refueling Qrea os shown within these plans.
E. Nutrients and fertftizers shall only be used to establish rapid vegetation. \\hen these products ore utmzed, the user should pay altention to the
products recommended usage.

SPILL RESPONSE PLAN
Pavement areas should also be monitored for pollutants. Any large quantity of fluids such as oil, antifreeze. broke fluid. etc. found
on the pavement should be reported to the owner and the' SDurce determined, if possible, and removed from the site for
maintenance or repair. Pavement should oIso be monitored for sediment coming from V8getated areas that drain onto the pavement.
If sediment is found it should be deoned off the pavement. and the source of the soli found and repaired as discussed above.
