HomeMy WebLinkAboutExplanation of Variance RequestsBoard of Zoning Appeals Docket No. Assignment: Oberweis—That Burger Joint— Woodgrain Pizzeria Variances (PZ-2022-00074, 75, 77 V) Preliminary Review Comments — Item I - list out the true practical difficulties and hardships associated with having to comply with the zoning ordinance. 1. Drive-thru location: The nature of this particular site and the roadways surrounding it means that there is not truly a "rear of the parcel." We located the drive-thru according to the recommendation of staff. 2. Building height: The building height variance is needed in order to ensure mechanicals on the roof are sufficiently hidden from view without unduly sacrificing the internal function and aesthetic of the ceiling height. 3. Signage: The additional signs are necessary because we have 3 unique brands (Oberweis, That Burger Joint, and Woodgrain Pizzeria) which need to be sufficiently conveyed to the public (potential guests) to adequately describe the offerings inside the building.
