Project Introduction:
We plan to install an in -ground pool which will be constructed by Pools of Fun. The liner pool will be 36'
long X 16' wide. Concrete around the pool has been added to aid in maneuverability and enjoyment.
An existing retaining wall will be demolished and re -constructed with new materials. Additionally, the
angle of the retaining wall will be changed to avoid the in -place easement.
Statement of Variance Request:
Request variance of LIDO Section 5.02.7- Pool/decking setback must be 3 feet from any easement; 2 foot
setback requested. When moving the existing retaining wall which currently encroaches upon the
easement, this variance is requested so as not to change the symmetry of the concrete design.
Request variance of LIDO Section 2.04- Maximum 35% lot cover allowed; 45.3% requested. We are
requesting approval of a lot coverage increase because without it, we could not improve the backyard.
The proposed plan is 576 SF of pool, with 1,069 SF of pool deck, making the requested lot coverage
45.3%.
Statement of Support:
We are seeking support of this project because it will improve our family's quality of life by helping us to
enjoy quality time together. This forever home for our combined family was recently purchased in an
established neighborhood and we are looking forward to making many memories here. This project will
promote family bonding, time with friends, and physical and mental development for many years to
come. From a community standpoint, we are hopeful that many neighbors will be able to enjoy the
improvements as well. We are hopeful this proposal will be approved and look forward to making a
positive impact on the Ashton community.
