EXCAVATION 1. Be sure to remove any stones or sticks that may potentially damage the vinyl liner. 2. Create a 2' over dig around entire pool. This will give you room to work efficiently and install the buttress bracing with ease. This also serves as your concrete barrier wall as concrete footer will be poured 10" deep and 2' wide. 3. Excavate to a minimum 2' depth. 4. A 2" layer of masonry sand is required as a base for the pool floor. 5.
