E. Site Narrative
Murphy Hall, Section 1 is the first of two sections ofthis proposed development in Western Clay
Township. Large lakes, open space, swimming pool, community recreation area and extensive walls
and landscaping for screening will be provided as part of the project. The site is located on the
northwest comer of 141 st Street and Towne Road. This section contains 32.68 of the 55 acres for the
overall project. The property is zoned S-l and the project will be developed meeting all the
requirements of the Carmel Open Space Ordinance.
F. Water Service
Water for the project will be supplied by the City of Carmel. Water main serving the project will be
extended from the existing 12" water main on the north side of 141 st Street.
G. Sanitary Sewer Service
The sanitary sewer service will be provided by Clay Township Regional Waste District. The sewers
in Murphy Hall, Section 1 will connect to the sewers in Heather Knoll, Section 2 just west of the
project on the north side of 141 st Street. The main sewer line through the project will be and 8" PVC
sewer extending to the north property line as required by Clay Township Regional Waste District.
All other sewers will be 8" PVC.
H. Storm Drainage
The storm water runoff will be collected in storm sewers and routed to a series of two lakes
providing storm detention for the site. Murphy Hall, Section 1 will eventually discharge in to Stultz
& Almond Regulated Drain which was previously reconstructed along the frontage of the site on the
south side of 141 st Street. Storm sewers in this subdivision will be regulated drains maintained by
the Hamilton County Surveyor's office.
I. Soils
Soil types found on the site are primarily Brookston-Crosby soils with some areas of Miami soils
Miami soils are typically deep well-drained soils, while Brookston- Crosby soils are generally deep
and somewhat poorly drained.
