Multi -tenant Sign Criteria
Wall Signage:
1. The size of the sign shall be no more than 70% of the spandrel heigh

than 85% of the spandrel width, with a 10% leeway allowance for architdtt !a of
elements that may hinder sign visibility. For example, if a spandrel area is 10' tall,
then the maximum sign height allowed would be 7 feet. If the spandrel area were to
be 20 feet wide, then the maximum spandrel width would be 17 feet.
2. Per tenant, the following shall apply:
a. A maximum of one (1) wall sign shall be permitted per street frontage, with a
maximum of two (2) wall signs total per tenant.
b. One (1) Secondary Projecting sign shall be permitted per tenant Fagade, a
maximum of two (2) shall be permitted for pedestrian identification along a
sidewalk.
3. The tenant sign shall be located within the Spandrel Panel of the Building Street
Frontage occupied by the tenant.
4. All signs shall be internally illuminated, individual channel letters.
5. The signs shall be raceway mounted.
6. Additional signage not specified herein, but permitted by the Sign Ordinance shall
not require further ADLS Approval; however, a sign permit from the City of Carmel
will be required prior to installation of signs.
Monument Sign:
1. The Monument Sign shall be no taller than six (6) feet in height.
2. Maximum Sign Area shall be determined by Chart A in the Sign Ordinance.
3. The Monument Sign shall be a minimum of five (5) feet from the right-of-way.
Responsibility for Signs
1. Sign drawing will include elevation view of storefront showing sign with dimensions
of height and length of sign and showing all colors proposed
2. Owner/Tenant shall lawfully erect sign at its own risk and expense, including final
electrical connection.
3. All signs including installation, will comply with all local building and electrical codes.
4. Owner/Tenant shall maintain the sign in good repair at all times.
5. Upon vacating, Owner/Tenant shall remove all signs and repair all damages to
building fagade by such removal.
6. Owner will have no responsibility whatsoever for any cost, expense, or loss arising
out of or in connection with the orders for or construction, fabrication, re -
fabrication of signs, whether or not in conformity from the department of
metropolitan development following a review and approval by the administrator of
the division of development services for compliance with this sign criteria before
proceeding with others for or construction, fabrication, or re -fabrication of any
signs.
