Proposed Public Art Location: Location: TBD—preferred locations are Carmel Arts & Design District, Midtown, or City Center Modifications Needed to Location (including pedestals and hardscape): The Street Dept. will handle any that may be required. Statement supporting chosen art, artist and location: Statues are part of the city's economic development plan as they draw visitors to Carmel, which is good for local business. The city is working to acquire art reflective of the diverse community. Input from the Indian community in Carmel will be allowed in designing the statue to ensure appropriate culture dress. Please submit photo or sketch of proposed art, artist bio, and location photo along with any plans for area around location if changing. Updated proposal attached. Colorful traditional dress. To be sited in Carmel in a natural and appealing location. Models for the sculpture and specific pose will be researched with city representatives.
