The pump should be directly wired into a GFCI protected outlet with on/off switch for pump. • The transformer for pool light (black box on top of pole) should be a 110-volt service, with an on/off switch for the pool light. The low voltage line runs to pool light (low voltage wire comes attached to the pool light). • Bonding-8-gauge unsheathed copper wire should be attached with bonding lugs around the pool at no less than 4 points of contact. The copper wire is then inserted into the bonding lug that is attached to the pool pump and secured there. Bonding to perimeter surfaces can be attached to the pool reinforcing steel or copper conductor grid at a minimum of 4 points spaced around the pool’s perimeter. The electrical equipment for swimming pools must be grounded and connected by wiring methods in accordance with the NFPA 70 National Electric Code.® In addition to grounding, bonding is required to get all metal parts of the electrical equipment and the non-electrical metal parts of the pool/spa structure to attain equal electrical potential. ATOM SERIES LED LIGHT SPECS PUMP SPEC FOR ELECTRICAL AND PLUMBING FLOW RATE TRANSFORMER SPECS The motor frame must be grounded to a reliable grounding point using a solid copper conductor, No. 8 AWG or larger. In Canada, No. 6 AWG or larger must be used. If the pump is installed within 5 feet of the inside walls of the swimming pool, the motor frame must be bonded to all metal parts of the swimming pool structure and to all metal equipment, metal conduit, and metal piping within 5 feet of the inside walls of the swimming pool. CAUTION: The pump must be permanently connected to a dedicated circuit. No other equipment, lights, appliances, or outlets may be connected to the pump circuit, with the exception of devices that may be required to operate simultaneously with the pump, such as a chlorinating device or heater.
