Post- developed con~tions will follow that same path through a series of swales and pipes directing storm water to retention ponds located along the East. side of the project. The. ponds will discharge into Long Branch Drain at a controlled release rate, which will meet ()r ex~eed allcurrent requirements. Gas .. Natural gas service will be provided by Indiana Gas. Publicly held since 1969, Centex is traded on the New York Stock Exchange and the International Stock Exchange (London). Centex and its subsidiaries employ approximately 10,000 people throughout the United States and Mexico. 1950's Centex Corporation was founded in 1950 as Centex Construction Company, a residential and commercial construction company. In the mid-1950's, the company began the development of Elk Grove Village, Illinois, the nation's first "new city" concept or master-planned community. Elk Grove Village, where underground utilities and telephone lines were utilized for the first time in the nation's history, is now a mature Chicago suburb. 1960's By 1960, Centex had built more than 25,000 homes. During its second decade, the company changed its name to Centex Corporation and began to broaden the scope of its operations. Centex ventured into the cement manufacturing business in Texas and Nevada. In addition, Centex acquired Dallas based contractor, J.W. Bateson (now Centex Construction Company), increasing the company's commercial construction capabilities. Ceritex builds communities where hard workinf! families realize their dreams. r u u u I ... 1970's In 1969, Centex Corporation became publicly owned through an offering of 500,000 shares of common stock. In the 1970's, operations continued to broaden. The acquisitions of a Chicago- based home builder and Dallas-based Fox & Jacobs Homes promoted Centex to one of the largest builders of single-family homes. Centex also acquired Frank J. Rooney, Inc. (Now Centex- Rooney Construction Company) the largest general contractor in the state of Florida, which later constructed much of Disney World; including Cinderella's Castle and the Grand Floridian Hotel. 1980's By 1980, Centex had built more than 100,000 homes. During the 1980's, the company expanded it's home building operations from 8 to 35 cities. In 1985, Centex's mortgage banking operation, Mortgage Company. CTX began establishing mortgage-financing offices in each of Centex's major markets. In addition, CTX initiated title, insurance and escrow operations. Today, CTX Mortgage Company is one of the largest non-bank affiliated mortgage originators in the nation. 1990's In the 1990's, Centex Corporation has expanded its home building operations into more than 50 cities nationwide. We have also increased our number of mortgage financing offices to more than 170; entered the industrial contracting business with the acquisition of the Forcum-Lanom Associates of Dyersburg, Tennessee; completed construction of a new gypsum wallboard plant in New Mexico and acquired another (Eagle=Gypsum) in Colorado. Today, home building remains Centex's chief operation, a primary reason why Centex Homes consistently ranks among the Centex is synonymo~ with q#ality. professionalism. and permanence. () o o ... . largest single-family home builders in the United States. Centex Homes has held the ranking of #1 Home Builder of single-family detached homes since 1989 and has delivered more than 20,000 homes nationwide each year since 1993. Centex delivered approximately 18,800 homes to our customers in 1999. Centex is also the only home builder to rank among the Top 10 U.S. home builders for each of the past 28 years. Centex has also recently received prominent national recognition for our commitment to quality and customer service by being honored as "1999 Builder of the Year" by Professional Builder Magazine. In addition, Fortune Magazine (February 2000) recently recognized Centex as the top Construction/Engineering Company in its "Most Admired Corporations" list. Here, in the Indianapolis area, Centex has been building premium quality homes since 1992. We have worked diligently and continue to devote our resources toward becoming a leader in the Indianapolis housing market by distinguishing the Centex name and the homes we build from our competition. Our local management team relies upon local suppliers and contractors to help us deliver the best homes in the industry. Stony Creek is designed to promote a sense of community and friendship among neighbors. Likewise, the neighborhoods we create say everything about who we are and in what we believe. Our commitment planning and executing the development of our communities are a testimony to that effect. Centex believes in creating quality neighborhoods that have positive, long lasting impacts upon the community at-large. Attention to detail, extensive landscaping, large common open spaces, recreational amenities and superior housing designs make our neighborhoods look and feel like home. r u u '-> .\' ~ o Waters Edge at Lake Ridge - Brownsburg NEW MODEll 852-3822 Garden homes from the $120's. 74 W. to S.R. 267 S. to left on 56th St. Pool, walking/jogging, basketball, tennis. @ Bridle Trace at Lake Ridge - Brownsburg NEW MODEll 852-3822 Designer homes from the $140's, 74 W. to S.R. 267 S. to left on 56th St. Pool, walking/jogging, basketball, tennis. e Stone Haven at Haverstick - Carmel 848-9094 Designer Homes from the $140's - $260's Keystone Ave. to E. on 131st St. (Main.St.) On N. side, just W. of River Rd. FORTUNE's list of "America's Most Admired Companies" is the definitive report card on corporate reputations. The winners were chosen from the 1,000 largest U.S. companies (ranked by revenues). FORTUNE sorted these companies by industry and then selected the 10 largest in each industry to constitute 57 groups. To create the industry lists, Clark Martire & Bartolomeo asked 10,000 company directors, executives, and analysts to rank companies in their industry on the eight attributes. The result is an industry-by-industry guide to America's shinie~t reputations. ~ ~'T "~;r J~ "The key to our success is the people of Centex Homes - highly motivated people who take initiative, overcome obstacles, and share their expertise.
