With regard to the above, I would like to make a few comments as this property is located directly
behind my home. Several years ago,when a developer was interested in this property,we (meaning
several of the people in the neighborhood, along with the HOA officers at the time) worked very
diligently to put certain ordinances into effect to protect the surrounding homes that would be affected
by a new development. And although we weren't really in favor of a development at all,those
ordinances made it possible to live with. All of the buildings and parking were going to be built closer to
Pennsylvania Street keeping a very large open,green space between the neighborhood and the
development.
Now you've got a new developer coming in that wants to change all that and put 4 story buildings within
50 yards of our 1 & 2 story homes. My first question to you is—how would you like to look out the back
door of your home to a 4 story building basically in your backyard? The ordinances that were put into
place were done so for a reason;to protect our property and our privacy. The property being developed
is plenty big enough to accommodate what they are wanting to do without putting it in our backyard.
We have always known that this day would come again and I am not opposed to a development per se,
however, I would like to ask that you take the homeowners into great consideration and work this out
so both sides can get what they need and deserve. I don't think we are deserving of this development
as planned. Thank you.
