Johnson <Scot.A.Johnson@bslgroup.net> Sent:Friday, October 21, 2022 9:31 AM To:Shestak, Joe Subject:New Pickleball Facility Good Morning Mr. Shestak, I am writing this e-mail in support of the petition to rezone property located at the Pennwood Office Park in Carmel, Indiana. I have been playing pickleball for 1 ½ years and currently play about 3 times per week in Carmel and the surrounding area. I have found that it is difficult to find facilities that offer indoor pickleball court times that are on dedicated pickleball courts. A great majority of the facilities offer pickleball on basketball courts and/or share court time with tennis or other sports, such as basketball. It is especially difficult to find court times in the evenings during the week and on weekends, which is needed for people that work full time during normal business hours. With the weather we have in Central Indiana (rain, wind and snow), the ability to play pickleball indoor is much needed at least half of the year. This facility is important to our community because Pickleball is the fastest growing sport in the United States and pickleball courts are in huge demand at this time. I would love the opportunity to play indoor pickleball in this new facility and fully support this petition so that a new pickleball facility can be built.
