Hi BZA Members,
I am very much in favor of this appeal. It seems clear as day Director Mike Hollibaugh is incorrect saying this is a 2 story
building, giving his approval saying the 6 stories is not attached to the front facing 2 story apartments.
Buckingham's own drawings show this as one complete building. There is even a hallway in their drawings showing it as
one building.
This means they want to build a 6 story building next to Johnson Addition which goes against the current Carmel UDO
Section 2.36 and Comprehensive Plan Section 1.3.7 .
UDO Section 2.36 – C2 District Development Standards states: Maximum Building Height is 35 feet for a principal
building when adjacent to single-family residences.
Comprehensive Plan Section 1.3.7 – Protect single-family neighborhoods from dissimilar adjacent uses with respect to
scale of buildings, building materials, lighting, noise.
