Subject:Comment on potential group home
From my limited knowledge, I believe the group home would not pose any issues to the residents, especially if it is for
elderly residents. There would be no concern for loud parties. Perhaps the permit can specify 55+ rather than a general
group home permit And I would hold the staff to the same expectations as residents, rather than viewing them as
guests. And the “homeowner” is the business entity.
I live in an HOA and I understand the concern for not having renters. There should be clear language as to the use of the
premises. I assume the HOA has requirements for exterior maintenance so the owner would comply. As for “traffic” I
don’t see any more increase than the constant deliveries that all of us get. And a family with 4 children legally residing
there would certainly have cars in and out regularly. I see this home as a welcome addition where the neighbors might
even be able to volunteer their time to socialize with the residents. It’s human nature to fear the unknown, but these
residents are not criminals—but simply disabled.
