SIDEWALK NOTES
1) Excavate for sidewalk as necessary to provide for positive drainage across tope of walk. Slope of surrounding
landscape area varies.
2) Walk shall be placed on undisturbed soil or compacted subgrade.
3) Sidewalk gradient shall note exceed 1'-0" rise in 20'-0" run (5% Slope) in main direction of travel. Cross pitch shall
not exceed 1/4" rise in 1'-0" rise (2% Slope).
4) Contractor to stake center line of sidewalk in field for approval from Landscape Architect prior to construction or
sidewalks.
5) Only concrete sidewalk to receive 4" smooth trowel border. All other concrete to have medium broom finish as
shown, with no border.
GENERAL DETAIL NOTES
1) All cast stone dimensions to be field verified by contractor. Contact landscape architect for any discrepancies.
Provide shop drawings for approval, prior to casting. Shop drawings shall include but are not limited to thickness,
radius, length, color, joint placement, etc.
2) Contractor to supply landscape architect available caulk and/or grout colors for selection and approval before
proceeding with application.
3) Contractor to provided 6' (ft) x 6' (ft) colored concrete mock-up using specified texture and colored concrete
hardener for landscape architect's approval.
4) Shop drawings, signed and sealed by a structural engineer licensed in the state of Texas, to be provided to
landscape architect prior to beginning construction on shade or overhead structure. Reinforcement shown is for
graphical representation only and shall not be constructed as part of any grade beams, piers, etc. Shop drawings shall
indicate all members, connections, welds, fastenings, materials, wind loading capacity, etc. prior to fabrication and
installation.
5) Tile patters shown are for schematic purposes only. See Materials Plan, Materials Schedule, and Construction
Details callouts for sizing, color, and patterns.
6) All tile joints where undesired edge of tile would be visible require the use of a Schluter trim piece. Color and finish
of Schluter trim piece to be selected by Landscape Architect.
7) Concrete sub-slabs should have expansion joints every 20'-0" o.c. (Maximum).
