To the committee:
Ritz Charles has been in existence for 16 years in the City of Carmel.
During that period we have established ourselves as an integral part of the
city culture. One of the problems that have traveled through time, along
with our steady growth, has been the constant and ongoing rebuilding of
our canopy or portico.
You may have witnessed on your trips to our facility the fact that the
canopy has been hit by trucks no less that 25 to 30 times. To finally fix this
problem for good we need your permission to replace our canopy with a
new design that you have before you. This is purely a cosmetic change to
the entrance of our building and will not only alleviate the problem, but
also enhance or modernize our facade.
Because of the nature of our business, we only can find one weekend before
the end of the year that will allow us to not disturb our patrons during the
remodel of the canopy. This would be the last week of July and the first
weekend of August.
Our request of is that with your approval, we could forgo the full plan
commission hearing on this project and allow us to meet our goals for
completion. This is not a significant change to any of our building except
for the entrance and side door. Landscaping is not disturbed and the colors
as indicated would match our existing design.

1. Split seam roof on canopy to be color "slate gray"
2. EIFS color 2 will match existing EIFS color in courtyard, co

3. EIFS color 1 will be color "off white"
4. Coping to match existing coping on building, color "gray"
5. Entrance doors and all new windows to be color "off white"
6. All canopy trim and pillars to be color "off white"
7. New front entrance door hardware to be polished brass.
8. Messastone masonry units under pillars and at base of entrance to
be color "ramapo white"
9. All brick is existing.
10. Band on brick to be omitted.
General note: attached color rendering of existing building indicates
the colors approved at earlier plan commission applications and with
exception of the pillars, new door and windows and canopy trim, which
will be "off white", and the slate gray split seam roof over canopy, All
other colors will match existing.
