THE TOWNHOMES AT CITY CENTER
Report on Water Distribution, Sanitary Sewer and Storm Se
1. Water Distribution
B
The potable water to the site will be provided by the City of Carmel Department of Water an
Wastewater Utilities. Connections onto the existing mains will be made at the following
location:
. An existing 8" main, which runs in a north-south direction through the site between
proposed buildings 3 and 4, will be tapped and extended along City Center Drive to the
east and west in order to serve proposed buildings 1 through 6.
. An existing 8" main, which runs along the southerly side of Autumn Drive, will be
tapped in order to serve buildings 7 and 8.
Approval for the extension of every water main will be required from the Indiana Department of
Environmental Management, and all mains will be designed and installed in accordance with the
City of Carmel Water and Wastewater Utilities.
2. Sanitary Sewer
Sanitary sewer effluent for the site will be collected and piped to an existing sanitary sewer stub
on the north side of City Center Drive. The existing sanitary sewer system pipes effluent to a lift
station located at the southwest comer of the intersection of City Center Drive and 3rd Avenue
SW. The lift station pumps effluent under 3rd Avenue SW and to the south along the east side of
3rd Avenue SW to an existing manhole which flows into a 10" PVC sanitary line under 3rd
Avenue SW.
Approval for the design and construction of sanitary sewer facilities will be required from the
Indiana Department of Environmental Management, and all sewers will be designed and installed
in accordance with the City of Carmel Water and Wastewater Utilities.
3. Storm Sewer
The surface runoff on the site will be conveyed by a system of swales and pipes to existing curb
inlets within City Center Drive. A portion of the sites surface runoff will discharge directly into
an existing wetland area between proposed buildings 6 and 7 in order to recharge and preserve
the wetland area. The ultimate discharge point for the site is Carmel Creek.
Approvals for the design and construction of the storm sewer facilities must be obtained from the
City of Carmel Department of Engineering.
