ORDINANCE NO. D-2654-22
AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARMEL, INDIANA,
AUTHORIZING AND APPROVING AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS
FROM THE STORM WATER MANAGEMENT FUND TO THE 2022 STORM WATER
BUDGET
Synopsis: This ordinance appropriates funds to the 2022 Storm Water Budget that were received
from the Community Development Block Grant and Duke Energy in order to use the funds for
storm water projects.
WHEREAS, in 2022 the City of Carmel (“City”) received funds in the amount of Twenty
Thousand Two Hundred Twenty Nine Dollars and Seventy Cents ($20,229.70) from Hamilton County
as part of the City’s allocation of the Community Development Block Grant (“CDBG Funds”); and
WHEREAS, the CDBG Funds were granted to the City for storm water management projects
and were deposited into the Grant Fund (#900); and
WHEREAS, in 2022 the City received Forty Nine Thousand Three Hundred Seventy Three
Dollars and Thirty Seven Cents ($49,373.37) from Duke Energy as part of a relocation reimbursement
agreement (the “Duke Funds”); and
WHEREAS, the Duke Funds were deposited into the Storm Water Management Fund (#250);
and
WHEREAS, in order to expend the CDBG Funds and the Duke Funds for storm water
projects, the funds must be appropriated into the 2022 Storm Water Budget; and
WHEREAS, the Storm Water Management Fund (#250) currently has excess funds in the
amount of Sixty Nine Thousand Six Hundred Three Dollars and Seven Cents ($69,603.07) to
appropriate to 2022 Storm Water budget line item 4350900 – Other Cont. Services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Carmel, Indiana,
that the following additional sum of money is hereby appropriated out of the Storm Water
Management Fund and for the purposes specified, subject to applicable laws, as follows:
$69,603.07 from the Storm Water Management Fund (#250)

Storm Water Management Fund #250: Line Item 4350900 – Other Cont. Services - $69,603.07
This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage, execution by the
Mayor.
