RE: Docket No. PZ-2-22-0243 V
13787 Hickory Ridge Court
Carmel Zoning Board:
I am a resident of 5pringmill Ponds, an adjoining community to 5pringmill Crossing. My family has lived
in Carmel since 2014 and we have raised our children (now 7 and 9) here. I drive and run through
5pringmill Crossing on a daily basis. I have been extremely happy with the quality of home upkeep, the
camaraderie amongst neighbors, and the sense of community within our neighborhood.
Further, my nine -year -old son is an avid soccer enthusiast. We have enrolled him in private lessons with
Coach Cary. I have been very impressed with how Coach Cary communicates and challenges our son and
we have seen good results from the time they have spent together. His facility/home is well kept, and
when we have driven him to practice on Hickory Ridge Court we have been the only vehicle in the drive.
I was surprised to learn from Coach Cary that some neighbors were upset with his backyard setup. I was
more surprised to learn that he wasn't sure which neighbors were upset, since they hadn't approached
him directly. In my opinion, this goes against what I have witnessed thus far in our community. What is
the purpose of having a neighbor if you feel as though you cannot engage with them? How fearful must
these neighbors be to shy away from ringing a doorbell?
The intent of this letter is to communicate my support for Coach Cary and how he is running his business
in our community. Other neighborhoods should be so lucky to have homeowners like Cary Pruett who
engage with children, provide a positive role model, and challenge them to improve.
I'm sorry that the cowardly nature of the neighbors who do not approve of Coach Cary's setup caused
your time and effort to be focused on something that, to this resident, isn't worthy of your attention.
5u ortive Neighbor,
Justin McKeand
