To Whom It May Concern:
As a resident of Brookshire Lakes I want to share my concerns about the proposed commercial use for the
above address. Nothing along Main Street from River Road to past the High School is of this or any
commercial nature. There is plenty of other commercial space available throughout the city & I do not think
this proposed project fits into the character of the area. The proposed lighting and signage to maximize
advertising just would not add to the area and would set a bad precedent for any future endeavors.
I understand the desire of the current owners to try to maximize on their investment & a commercial enterprise
would have more potential, thus the inflated price for sale. And because of its location, zoning, and condition I
too understand the difficulty in trying to sell with the current zoning requirements. Perhaps something more in
line with the existing community ventures would be a better fit and could be explored instead.
Expanding upon the current structure, adding a parking lot, lighting and signage would not be an improvement
to the surrounding area & I fear what could be developed in the future.
Therefore, I would encourage the City and Board of Zoning to deny this request.
