All 120v lighting that is also “shot” into the structure has #8 copper ground into the back of the light niche and ran all the way up to be tied into the bonding grids itself. We also run 8ga copper directly from the equipment pad to the closest corner of the pool to be tied into the grid. Our standard grids are made up of 36” wide, 10ga 6x6 wire mesh, that runs the entire perimeter of the Pool, including the backside of the cover box, that each section overlaps by 12” in each necessary direction, then tied together with rebar tie wire. Once completed we begin on 1 corner by running the 8ga copper to each corner, breaking and connecting with a copper grounding clamp, and continuing until completed. We then go back and then connect the aforementioned ground wires to the newly laid copper bond wire using copper split bolt connectors as well as a copper wire for the future pool cover motor and any bronze rail anchor sockets, again all tied into the copper bond wire.
