September 14, 2001 LOWE'S of CARMEL: Description of proposed ADLS Amendment: Lowe's Companies, Inc. respectfully requests approval, and herewith submitts the attached ADLS Amendment to revise it's previously approved ADLS approval as follows: This ADLS Amendment seeks approval to completely enclose the previously named "Staging Area" located at the northwest comer of the building. The plan as revised encloses the "Staging Area" and identifies the enclosed space as "Overstock 124", containing an area of approximately 10,200 square feet. As originally approved, the "Staging Area" was an out-door space, enclosed by a decorative, twenty foot high, brick veneer, masonry wall on the north and west sides. The north wall, as originally approved, contained a gated, eighteen foot wide opening to allow receipt of merchandise. In addition to the gated opening, the brick wall was designed with twelve foot wide by 12 feet 8 inch high brick faced inset panels with stone sills and lintels to provide material and surface interest which repeats in size and spacing the simulated window openings present on other elevations of the building. The west wall was identical in height and contained four openings, each with rectangular steel framed, black chain link fence covered openings, with a black mesh covering for visual and security screening purposes. The revised plan provides building elevations as follows: The north wall elevation will be thirty-five foot high with a continuous decorative cornice, eight simulated windows over inset masonry panels, an eighteen foot wide by fourteen foot high overhead door, a five foot deep by twenty foot wide weather canopy above the door and an adjacent pedestrian exit door. Each of these items above will be painted to match the brick color. The west wall elevation will match the north wall in height and architectural materials, character and details, and will contain a total of six simulated windows mirroring those along the balance of the west elevation. Additionally, a new fire exit door will be added immediately south of the new simulated windows. The new east wall matches in architectural materials, character and detail, the north and west walls and will contain two simulated windows over a ten foot wide by twelve foot high overhead door, an adjacent fire exit door, and a five foot deep by twenty foot wide weather canopy. Each of these items will be painted to match the brick.
