The IT room shall also be used for serving as a cross connect for the horizontal telecommunications cabling system. The IT room shall also serve as the primary entrance facility (EF) for all incoming telecommunications services entering the building. 1.The IT room shall be located so that no horizontal communications cable run is longer than 300 feet, including service loops and patch cables. The cable run distance shall be calculated using the cable tray pathways and vertical risers. 2.The IT room shall not be located adjacent to an electrical room housing a transformer to minimize the potential for electromagnetic interference (EMI). 3.The IT room shall not be located rooms beneath where water ingress is possible (restrooms, drains, etc.) 4.Any equipment unrelated to the telecommunications system shall not be stored or routed through the IT room without approval from the City of Carmel. 5.Final IT room layout and sizing shall be reviewed with the City of Carmel prior to final approval of the location and size. B.The IT room shall meet the following requirements 1.Ceiling: No ceiling 2.Flooring: Concrete 3.Lighting: Minimum of 50 footcandles and light fixtures positioned to eliminate shadows 5.Power: Two (2) 20A/120V circuits (quad receptacle) located at the bottom of telecommunications equipment cabinet. One (1) 20A/120V quadplex receptacle on each wall at approximately 48”A.F.F. (no more than 3 receptacles per dedicated circuit). 6.The room shall be provided with positive pressure to minimize dust intrusion into the telecommunications room. 7.HVAC: Dedicated cooling system (with thermostat) independent from the mechanical system serving the rest of the building to keep the room between 64-72 degrees, 44-55% humidity. a.Cooling equipment shall not be located above any telecommunications equipment to eliminate potential condensation dripping onto telecommunications equipment. b.The size of the cooling system shall be determined by the heat load produced by the telecommunications equipment. 8.¾”x 4’x 8’fire rated plywood backboard sheets wrapped around the entire room (installed at 6”A.F.F.) 9.Secured with access control proximity reader. 1/4" = 1'-0"1 THE CONCOURSE - MDF
