December 4, 2001
1. Docket No. 134-01 ADLS Amend; Sunrise Cafe Sign
Petitioner seeks Architectural Design, Lighting, Landscaping & Signage Amendment
approval to alter an existing ground sign. The site is located at 11450 N. Meridian Street.
The site is zoned B-6 (business) and is within the US 31/Meridian Street Overlay Zone.
Filed by Doug Cotter of MC Sign Company for Sunrise Cafe.
The applicant is requesting ADLS Amendment approval to replace their existing ground sign
(see information packet distributed with the November Committee agendas for elevations and
details). The item only requires approval by the Special Studies Committee.
The following issues / concerns were raised by the Committee at the November 6th meeting. The
applicant was asked to address the following for presentation at the December 4th meeting:
1. A desire to see a brick base for the sign.
2. Question regarding the split to each tenant. The Ordinance requires that it be evenly split
between tenants.
3. A desire to see the color of the sign modified.
The Department recommends that the Special Studies Committee approve this request
after resolution of the outstanding items the applicant was asked to address.
