Dear Mr. Kessler:
This is a report regarding the wetlands delineation I did for the 40 acre tract
of ground just north of 131 s1. Street approximately 1/4 mile east of Shelborne
Road, in Hamilton County, Indiana.
I did a detailed delineation of the plants, hydrology, and soils of the entire
site per U.S. Army Corps of Engineers standards and specifications. I
observed and delineated two small PFO 1 A (forested) wetlands along the
north edge of the woodland (located on the north end of the property) and
flagged their boundaries. The wetland boundaries were later surveyed by
Stoeppelwerth & Associates Land Surveyors. The total acreage of the two
PFOIA wetlands is 0.91 acres. A copy of the survey report is enclosed.
No other wetlands were observed on the 40 acre site.
Please call me if you have any questions.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
~/0~

Top photograph is looking north over corn field in front portion of site while standing
along grassed lane that leads to woods where PFO I A wetlands are located. Bottom
photo shows a tile drain "blow hole" within the corn field which is evidence that a
subsurface agricultural drainage system exists in the crop field.

The soil around the roots of this wind thrown beech tree show
the 10 YR 5/4 and 5/6 colors of the non-hydric Crosby silt loam
soils in upland portions of the woods. The bottom photo is
typical of the hydric Brookston silty clay loam soil found in
the wetlands. The matrix of the Brookston was 10 YR 3/2 with
low chroma mottles/redox depletions. Soils in the wetlands also
exhibited gleyed (5GY 4/1) coloring in some of the wetter areas.
