re: Weston Pointe Townhomes 1 BSB Job #33059
Anchor Bolts
This letter is in response to phone conversations and your 10/29/04 fax regarding the
anchor bolts installed in foundation wall between adjoining garages,
We understand that Surepoxy 117 epoxy grout manufactured by Kaufman Products and
Power-Stud Wedge Type Expansion Anchors manufactured by Powers Fasteners were
used in providing additionai sill plate anchors in the foundation wall between adjoining
garages after the wall was completed, The cavity of the concrete block was filled with epoxy
grout and Power-Stud Wedge Type Expansion Anchors (#7449, 3/4"x10") were embedded
in the grout a minimum of 6" deep, Anchors fastening the wood sill plate to the foundation
were located a maximum of six (6) feet on center with a minimum of two(2) anchors per
plate section and one(1) anchor located not more than twelve (12) inches from each wall
panel end, The conventional anchor bolts in place prior to the wood sill plate being set may
be used with regard to the spacing provided they were installed as required by the Indiana
Building Code,
The installation of sill plate anchor bolls as outlined above is acceptable, Attached are
product sheets for the Surepoxy 117 and Power-Stud Wedge Type Expansion Anchors,
Please let me know if you have any questions,

KAUFMAN
PRODUCT
INFORMATION
KAUFMAN
PRODUCTS
INC.
Description
SurePoxy 117 is a 100%-solids, high-modulus,
two-component, fast-setting epoxy gel. SurePoxy
117 provides a rigid, non-shrinking adhesive for
use in both dry and damp applications. It is
insensitive to moisture before, during, and after
cure. Surepoxy 117's unique non-abrasive formula
makes appiication significanliy easier with
pressure injection equipm~nt. Surepoxy 117 is
intended for use above 40 F. Changes In
temperature will oniy speed up or slow the
strength gain. SurePoxy is especially modified for
both rapid-set and strength gains.
Uses
Recommended for grouting of anchor bolts, bridge
railings, dowei bars (either plain or epoxy coated)
in transverse, longitudinal and vertical joints in
highway and bridge application. Seat base plates
and heavy vibrating machinery, subject to both
high stress and impact. Use to adhere parking
bumpers and sealing cracks and ports for injection
of epoxy into concrete. It is also recommended for
testing the adhesion of epoxy systems to concrete
using a pipe cap tensile test. SurePoxy 117 is
chemically engineered expressiy for use with
automated injection equipment. Follow pressure
equipment manufacturers directions.

Packaging
7.SL (2 gal. unit)
37.8SL (10 gal. unit)
600 ML (220z.) 6 per carton
(1 static mixer supplied with every unit)
Storage Conditions
Store dry at 40-9S'F. Condition material to 50-8S'F before
using.
Directions
Surface Preparation
Condition SurePoxy 117 to SO'F before using. All surfaces
must be free of foreign matter and be structuraliy sound.
Prepare surfaces by acid etching, mechanical scarification or
sand-biasting. Drili hoie and blowout loose dust and debris
from hole using oil and moisture-free compressed air and
brush. Remove foreign matter from surfaces.
Application
Static Mixers - Insert the tip of the static mixer all the way to
the back of the hoie to be grouted. Dispense materiai and
gradualiy withdraw the mixer as the hole fills up. You can stop
pumping SurePoxy 117 into the hoie when they are
approximately SO% full, as the bar will displace most of the
Surepoxy. Check constantly to avoid air pockets and unevenly
mixed components.
Hand mixing - Mix until color is completely uniform. Insert into
hole and fill from the back outward until the hole is SO% full.
Insert anchor or rebar with a twisting motion all the way to the
back of the already grouted hole. Attach grout containing
plastic disc onto dowel or rebar to prevent run out. For cold
weather work it helps to make the discharge opening of static
mixers larger by cutting off the smallest opening. Depth of
embedment is typically 10-1S times the bolt diameter.
Notes
Ciean equipment with SurePoxy Thinner, or other aromatic
solvents (such as Xylene), immediateiy after use. Jobsite tests
should be conducted in order to verify anchor performance.
Precautions
Store at 40-90' F. Do not thin. Not for sealing cracks under
hydrostatic pressure. Read Material Safety Data before using.
This product is intended as an anchoring adhesive in relatively
low mass volumes. Please refer to the General Epoxy
Instructions for complete details on proper application during
cold and hot weather.
