Th~joists in question have a span of about 15'-8". The holL-s are about %" in diameter and eJ'e about 4' from one end. Some of the holes are between I" and 2" from the bottom of the joists. Based on my observations, I recorrunend that 2' long steel straps be securely nailed underthe holes along the bottom edges of the joi,'ls with the problem holes to compensate for me reductions in flexural slrength.
