The plans, specifications and application submitted for the above referenced project have been reviewed for compliance with the applicable rules of
the Fire Prevention and Building Safety Commission. The project is released for construction subject to, but not necessarily limited to, the conditions
listed below. THIS IS NOT A BUILDING PERMIT. All required local permits and licenses must be obtained prior to beginning construction work. All
construction work must be in full compliance with all applicable State rules. Any changes in the released plans andlor specifications must be filed with
and released by this Office before any work is'alterf:!d.;!hjsL~el~ase may be,,~,uspendeqor revoked if it is determined to be issued in error, in violation
of any rules of the Commission or if it is based'on incorrect or insufficient information. This rerease shall expire by limitation, and become null and

Note :(A 1 A & A 1 B): In accordance with the affidavit sworn under penalties of perjury in the application for construction design release the plans
and specifications filed in conjunction with this project shall comply with all of the applicable rules and laws of Fire Prevention and Building Safety
Commission. Providing false information constitutes an act of perjury, which is a Class D felony punishable by a prison term and a fine up to $10,000.
In accordance with Section 19 ofthe General Administrative Rules (675 lAC 12-6-19) a complete set of plans and specifications that conform
exactly to the design that was released by the office of the state building commissioner shall be maintained on the construction jobsite as wen as a
copy of the design release.

1. This project has been reviewed under 2005 Indiana Residential Code.
2. A townhouse is a sin9le-family dwelling unit constructed in a group of three or more attached
units separted by property lines in which each unit extends from foundation to roof and with open
space on at least two sides in accordance with Section R202, IRC(675 lAC 14-4-3).
Permitted openings between the garage and residence shall be equipped with solid wood, or solid
or honeycomb core steel doors not less than 1-3/8 inches thick or 20-minute fire-rated doors in
accordance with Section R309.1, IRC (675 lAC 14-4_2).
Garages shall be separated from dwelling units and their attic areas by not less than 1/2-inch
gypsum board applied to the garage side of supporting structure and to the structure supporting the
separation in accordance with Section R309.2, IRC (675 lAC 14-4.2).
3. Porches, balconies,decks or raised floor surfaces located more than 30 inches above the floor or
grade below shall have guardrails not less than 36 inches in height in accordance with Section
R312.1,IRC(675 14-4-2)
Through penetrations of fire-resistive wall or floor/ceiling assemblies shall be in accordance with
Section R321.3.1, IRC (675 lAC 14-4.2).
Membrane penetrations of fire-resistive wall or floor/ceiling assemblies shall be in accordance with
Sections R321.3.1 and R321.3.2, IRC (675 lAC 14-4.2).
Drains shall be provided around all foundations that enclose habitable or usable spaces located
below grade in accordance with Section R405, IRC (675 lAC 14-4.2).
Appliances having an ignition source shall be elevated such that the source of ignition is not less
than 18 inches above the floor in garages and in rooms or spaces that are not part of the living

space that communicate with the garage in accordance with Section M1307.3, IRC (675 lAC 14-
4.2).
1D1501A Clothes dryer exhausts shall convey moisture to and terminate outdoors in accordance with Section
M1501, IRC (675 lAC 14-4.2).
1 D1502A Vented range hoods shall discharge to the outdoors in accordance with Section M 1502.1, IRC (675
lAC 14-4.2).
1 D1803D Chimney and vent connectors shall have minimum clearances to combustibles in accordance with
Section M1803.3.4, IRC (675 lAC 14-4.2).
1D2419C Accessible shutoff valves shall be installed in the fuel supply piping within 6 feet of, in the same
room as, and ahead of the union connection for appliances in accordance with Section G2419.5,
IRC (675 lAC 14-4.2).

3M903A FACTORY BUILT FIREPLACES SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 903, IMC (675 lAC
18-1.4).
Please be advised that if an administrative review of this action is desired, a written petilion for review must be filed at the above address with the
Fife Prevention and Building Safely Commission identifying the matter for which a review is sought no later than eighteen (18) days from the above-
stated dale, unless the eighteenth day falls on a Saturday, a Sunday, a legal holiday under State statute, Of a day in which the Department of Fire
and Building Services is closed during normal business hours. In the laller case, the filing deadline will be the first working day thereafter. If you
choose to petition, and the before-mentioned procedures are followed, your petition for review will be granted, and an administrative proceeding will
be conducted by an administrative law judge of the Fire Prevention and Building Safety Commission. If a petition for review is not filed, this Order will
be final. and you must comply with its requirements.
