Dear Ramona:
On June 25, 2001, Outback Steakhouse, Inc./Carrabba's Italian Grill will present to the
Carmel Board of Zoning Appeals it's request for Developmental Standards Variance for the one (1)
acre parcel of real estate in Merchants' Square adjacent to Keystone Avenue and lying north and east
of the intersection of Keystone Way and Keystone Way East. The application requests a variance
from the Keystone Overlay Zone to permit the building to be known as Carrabba's Italian Grill to be
within thirty-one (31) feet of the right-of-way of Keystone Avenue. Enclosed is an informational
booklet explaining this request.

Merchants' Square
Dear Laurence:
Please find enclosed for filing with the Carmel Plan Commission, the ADLS Application of
Outback Steakhouse, Inc., requesting approval to construct and operate a Carrabba's Italian Grill
Restaurant on the undeveloped parcel of real estate in Merchant's Square, zoned B-8 Business
District and located at the comer of Keystone Way, adjacent to Keystone Avenue, between the FC
Tucker building on the north and MCL Cafeteria on the south. I am hopeful this matter can be
reviewed and placed on the March 21, 200 I T AC agenda and on the ApriI1?, 2001 Plan Commission
agenda. Copies of plans have been mailed to the T AC members listed and attached hereto.
I am also filing with the BZA an Application requesting a Developmental Standards Variance
from the front yard set-back requirement of the Keystone (431) Overlay Zone and requesting
placement on the May 28, 2001, agenda of the HZA.
