Like Leo and Earlene, I am a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish. Mike, if you think that the BZA may need to have legal counsel present for the consideration of this petition, you may want to ask Doug Haney to be available at the estimated time of the hearing (or at least on call). My guess is that the Board can get by with the staffs advice alone on this one. However, if a legal question does arise, it wouldn't be that difficult for you to have them recess the meeting and then to call Haney at home. These are required and need to include written and visual depictions of planting methodology and specifications. 3. On the revised plans, some plants are labeled and some plants are not. Plans need to include a plant schedule, and all plants must be specified in some way. 4. There are no tree preservation details on the plans. Please show visually and in writing the protection measures to be taken to preserve existing plant material on site during construction. The purpose of this meeting was to discuss the requirements for the addition to the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. In attendance were Charles R. Stafford of C.R. Stafford and Associates, William Snodgrass, P.E. and Ehren Lohrmann both of Mussett, Nichols and Associates and Fire Marshal Gary Hoyt of the Carmel Fire Department. Items discussed were the location of the fire department connection and the addition of a fire hydrant within fifty (50) feet of the fire department connection. The consensus of the group was that a fire hydrant and fire department connection be located at the north end of the existing building, across a parking lot access lane in a curbed island of the proposed parking lot. This will allow fort: access to both a water.supply and fire department connection for the new sprinkler system. The alternate plan would be at the same location as indicated above, but the all connections of the fire. department and fire hydrant be protected by bollards to prevent vehicular impacts,instead of" curbing. The other option discussed was to have the fire department connection and hydrant located in a grassy area south of the above location on the other side of. the lane. Mr. Stafford stated he would speak to the,church's representatives and see what option they would like to take. These options would satisfy the fire departments requirements as far as to the sprinkler connection and fire hydrant. The plant selection and position are satisfactory due to the limits imposed by the existing site conditions. Cannel is aware of the "no landscape installation" restrictions of the pipeline companies. 2. There are no planting notes or details on the landscape plans. These are required and need to include written and visual depictions of planting methodology and specifications. 3. On the revised plans, some plants are labeled and some plants are not. Plans need to include a plant schedule, and all plants must be specified in some way. 4. There are no tree preservation details on the plans. Please show visually and in writing the protection measures to be taken to preserve existing plant material on site during construction. These measures need to be in place before construction starts.
