APPLY SEED AND MULCH WITHIN 30 HOURS OF SEEDBED PREPARATION. 2.STABILIZATION OF A PROJECT SITE IS CONSIDERED ACHIEVED WHEN ALL LAND DISTURBING ACTIVITIES HAVE BEEN COMPLETED AND A UNIFORM PERENNIAL VEGETATIVE COVER WITH A DENSITY OF 70% HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED ON ALL UNPAVED AREAS AND AREAS NOT COVERED BY PERMANENT STRUCTURES, OR EQUIVALENT PERMANENT STABILIZATION MEASURES HAVE BEEN EMPLOYED. 3.THE CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN EROSION CONTROL MEASURES AND DEVICES DURING CONSTRUCTION AND UNTIL SILTATION WILL NO LONGER OCCUR. 4.AFTER THE CONTRACTOR HAS REMOVED TEMPORARY EROSION CONTROL MEASURES, ALL DISTURBED AREAS FROM REMOVAL OF CONTROLS & AT PROJECT LIMITS SHALL BE RE-SEEDED AS REQUIRED. GRADING NOTES 1.BEFORE ANY EXCAVATION ON THE SITE, CALL INDIANA 811 TO LOCATE ANY EXISTING UTILITIES ON THE SITE. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BECOME FAMILIAR WITH THE LOCATION OF ALL BURIED UTILITIES IN THE AREAS OF WORK BEFORE STARTING OPERATIONS. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE LIABLE FOR THE COST OF REPAIRING OR REPLACING ANY UTILITIES OR CONDUIT DAMAGED DURING THE INSTALLATION OF THIS WORK. 2.GRADES SHALL SLOPE TO DRAIN, BE FREE OF DEPRESSIONS OR OTHER IRREGULARITIES AFTER COMPACTION OF SOIL AND INSTALLATION OF PAVEMENT, AND SHALL BE UNIFORM IN SLOPE BETWEEN THE ELEVATIONS INDICATED. 3.ANY DEPRESSIONS WHICH CAUSE STANDING WATER ON PAVEMENT WILL REQUIRE CORRECTIVE ACTION BY THE CONTRACTOR WITH NO COST TO THE OWNER. 4.ALL PAVED SURFACES MUST HAVE A MINIMUM GRADE OF 1% AND SHALL NOT EXCEED 5% , INCLUDING GRADING TOLERANCES. CROSS-SLOPES ON ALL PAVED SURFACES SHALL NOT EXCEED 2%, INCLUDING GRADING TOLERANCES. ANY PROPOSED GRADES ON THE PLANS WHICH DO NOT MEET THE AFOREMENTIONED SLOPES REQUIREMENTS SHALL BE BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE ARCHITECT/ENGINEER PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION. PAVED SURFACES FOUND TO BE IN NON-CONFORMANCE WITH SLOPE REQUIREMENTS SHALL BE REPLACED BY THE CONTRACTOR AT NO COST TO OWNER. DIRECT ALL QUESTIONS OF ADA/ADAAG COMPLIANCE TO THE ARCHITECT/ENGINEER FOR RESOLUTION. 5.FINISH GRADES SHALL SMOOTHLY TRANSITION TO EXISTING AT LIMIT OF GRADING. 6.EXISTING TOPSOIL, VEGETATION AND ORGANIC MATERIALS SHALL BE STRIPPED AND REMOVED FROM PROPOSED PAVEMENT AREAS PRIOR TO PLACEMENT OF BASE MATERIALS. 7.FINISHED SURFACES SHALL BE SMOOTH AND EVEN WITH NO ABRUPT OR AWKWARD CHANGES IN GRADE. 8.OWNER OR ARCHITECT/ENGINEER RESERVES THE RIGHT TO MAKE MINOR ADJUSTMENTS IN LINES AND GRADES AS THE WORK PROGRESSES, WHENEVER SUCH CHANGES ARE CONSIDERED NECESSARY TO BETTER ACCOMPLISH THE DESIGN INTENT. 9.PROVIDE FINE GRADING AND SOIL PREPARATION FOR ALL SEEDING AREAS AND PLANTING BEDS PER LANDSCAPE SPECIFICATIONS. TOPSOIL DEPTH IN TURF SEED MIX AREAS SHALL BE A MINIMUM OF 6". LANDSCAPE NOTES 1.THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR INDEPENDENTLY DETERMINING THE PLANT MATERIAL QUANTITIES REQUIRED BY THE LANDSCAPE PLANS. REPORT DISCREPANCIES TO THE LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT. 2.PROVIDE FINE GRADING AND SOIL PREPARATION FOR ALL SEEDING AREAS AND PLANTING BEDS PER SPECIFICATIONS. TOPSOIL DEPTH IN TURF SEED MIX AREAS SHALL BE A MINIMUM TOPSOIL DEPTH OF 6". 3.SEEDING APPLIES TO ALL AREAS DISTURBED BY CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES EVEN IF ACTIVITIES EXTEND BEYOND THE APPROXIMATED LIMITS SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS. REPAIR ANY DISTURBED AREAS TO OWNER'S SATISFACTION. ARCHITECT/ENGINEER MAKES NO GUARANTEE NOR ASSUMES ANY LIABILITY AS TO THE COMPLETENESS AND/OR ACCURACY OF UTILITY DATA. 3.ALL UTILITIES SHALL BE FIELD LOCATED A MINIMUM OF 48 HOURS PRIOR TO THE START OF CONSTRUCTION. 4.COORDINATE STAGING, STOCKPILE ZONES, AND CONSTRUCTION FENCING WITH THE ARCHITECT/ENGINEER PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION. 5.ALL STRUCTURES, UTILITIES, PAVEMENT AND TREES NOT DESIGNATED TO BE REMOVED SHALL BE PROTECTED DURING CONSTRUCTION. ANY DAMAGE CAUSED BY THE CONTRACTOR TO ITEMS AND STRUCTURES TO REMAIN SHALL BE REPAIRED AT NO COST TO THE OWNER. 6.COORDINATE THE ADJUSTMENT OF UTILITY STRUCTURES WITH THE APPROPRIATE AGENCIES. NO WORK SHALL BE DONE WITHOUT WRITTEN CONSENT BY UTILITY OWNER. ALL UTILITY STRUCTURES TO REMAIN INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO: CLEAN-OUTS, MANHOLES, CATCH BASINS. SHALL BE ADJUSTED TO FINISH GRADE, UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE. 7.ALL MATERIAL TO BE REMOVED SHALL BECOME THE PROPERTY OF THE CONTRACTOR AND SHALL BE DISPOSED OFF SITE IN ACCORDANCE WITH ALL STATE, LOCAL AND FEDERAL GUIDELINES, UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED. 8.INSTALL CONSTRUCTION FENCE DEEMED NECESSARY AND AS DIRECTED BY ARCHITECT/ENGINEER FOR SECURITY. MODIFY PLACEMENT OF FENCE AS DIRECTED TO ACCOMMODATE PHASING OF CONSTRUCTION, EMERGENCY ACCESS AND PEDESTRIAN INGRESS/EGRESS AS NECESSARY. 9.PROTECT EXISTING TREES TO REMAIN AGAINST CUTTING, BREAKING OR SKINNING OF ROOTS, BRUISING OF BARK, SMOTHERING TREES, AND STOCKPILING EXCAVATION AND CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS OR PARKING VEHICLES WITHIN THE DRIP LINE. ANY DAMAGE BY CONTRACTOR TO EXISTING TREES TO REMAIN SHALL BE REPAIRED/REPLACED AT NO COST TO THE OWNER. 10.CLEANLY SAWCUT PAVEMENT TO THE FULL PAVEMENT DEPTH AT THE JOINT CLOSEST TO WHERE INDICATED ON DRAWINGS FOR REMOVAL. 11.DAMAGE TO THE EXISTING RIGHT-OF-WAY SHALL BE RESTORED/REPAIRED TO THE SATISFACTION OF THE CITY AT THE COMPLETION OF THE PROJECT. THE CONTRACTOR IS ENCOURAGED TO INSPECT THE RIGHT-OF-WAY WITH THE CITY PRIOR TO THE START OF CONSTRUCTION TO DOCUMENT THE EXISTING CONDITION OF THE RIGHT-OF-WAY. 12.REMOVE ALL SURFACE FEATURES WITHIN DEMOLITION AREAS UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED. 13.PROTECT ALL FEATURES WITHIN PROTECTED AREAS UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED.
