HomeMy WebLinkAboutLetter #30 Dr. Brenda and Joe Gaydos Shestak, Joe From:Brenda Gaydos <brendaleegaydos@icloud.com> Sent:Sunday, June 4, 2023 11:38 AM To:Shestak, Joe Cc:Jill Meisenheimer; Brenda Gaydos Subject:Andrews PUD Rezone Follow Up Flag:Follow up Flag Status:Completed To the Commi?ee, As a home owner in Stafford Place, I am reques?ng that the commi?ee does not approve the rezone as wri?en. The proposed high density neighborhood is not consistent with the surrounding suburban single family homes. In a small land space up against 146th street, this neighborhood would have as many or more homes then all of Stafford Place, no yards and hardly any green space. As it is, the proposed green space is up against a major road that is very noisy with a lot of exhaust fumes and dust. The proposed space will not be a pleasant place to play or relax. In addi?on, there are issues with the traffic flow given 146th street that will force traffic through Grey Oaks Court, currently a cul-de-sac. There is no doubt that the traffic (where our kids play) will dras?cally increase. Restric?ng/elimina?ng access to the road into Grey Oaks would help. It is most likely that families, not 55+, will buy these units given they are mul?ple levels. Therefore, they need more green space for the kids and even for the adults. Without them, owners will be forced to use the park and pond walkways that Stafford Place residents pay for and maintain. Surrounding neighborhoods have similar green spaces so sharing does not cause over crowding. Please insist on more green space / reduced density. At a minimum the neighborhood should be restricted to 55+ or else the developer should drop any men?on of that in the proposal. It is dishonest. Also, I am concerned about the impact to our water pressure. In our home we have very low water pressure. I have been told low pressure is due to all of the new homes that have been added to the water system. Please do something to ensure that we will have adequate water pressure. We purposely built in an area that was zoned residen?al. We invested our future in a suburban neighborhood. That was the promise we were given. I would rather pay more in taxes if needed to keep that promise. Please preserve our remaining suburban neighborhoods. There are plenty of places apartments etc. are going up everywhere in Carmel. Everywhere. Dr. Brenda Gaydos Mr. Joe Gaydos Sent from my iPad 1
