November 3, 2009 regarding the application for Architectural Design 1. ighting/Landscaping and Signage
Amendment (ADLS Amend) for Meridian Plaza, Carmel, Indiana.
APPROVED: Docket No. 09100007 ADLS Amend, Meridian Plaza Signage was approved as presented
to the Special Studies Committee.

The Special Studies Committee considered the following items:
1. Docket No. 09090019 ADLS Amend: West Cannel Center, Blk B, Lot 1 - Ameriana Bank
The applicant seeks approval to modify the landscape plan & remove some plant material. The site is
located at 3975 W. 106" St. and is zoned B-5/Business. Filed by Alan Armstrong for Ameriana
Bank.
Present for Petitioner: Alan Armstrong, Armstrong Realty.
Overview:
• Petitioner has revised the landscape plan
• Petitioner agreed to re -locate the western -most Spruce to the eastern boundary
• Petitioner agreed to remove two eastern -most Maple trees
• Petitioner agreed to install six (6), 24-inch Chokeberry shrubs to match existing

• Urban Forestry has approved revised landscape plan
• Dept recommends favorable consideration

at 10333, 10450, and 10585 N. Meridian St. and is zoned B-5 within the US 31 Overlay. Filed by

• Maximum Number of Wall Signs for Single Tenant Building - If one tenant occupies entire bldg., that
tenant may have up to two wall signs maximum, each wall sign must be located to face a different street
• Proposed wall signs would be internally illuminated, facelit channel letters and company logos
• Letters of company name shall appear black during day/white at night
• Company logos shall be in colors of company without restriction as to color, but shall conform to the size
restrictions set forth in the Carmel Zoning Ordinance

• Petitioner agreed to stay within 5 square feet of currently allowed

The applicant seeks approval to amend the Carmel Clay Comprehensive Plan (C3 Plan 2009), to adopt
Land Classifications and a Subarea Plan for the 96th Street & Westfield Boulevard Special Study Area,
which is located south of 99th St. north of 96th St., east of the Monon, and west of Keystone Pkwy. Filed
by the Department of Community Services, on behalf of the Carmel Plan Commission.
