Project Description As a Ford dealer, we are always trying to be on the forefront of the auto industry and market changes. Ford Motor Company announced in September 2022 that if dealers wanted to participate in selling electric vehicles (EV), they would need to make some substantial investments. Those investments meant Pearson Ford would need to add multiple Level 3 chargers, Level 2 chargers, 240v outlets and service equipment; on top of ongoing investments in sales and service training. Only about half of Ford dealers across the country are making this investment. Unlike other EV charger projects, Pearson Ford is not asking for any financial assistance. Other than a couple of public facing Level 2 chargers, Pearson Ford’s chargers would be the only public facing chargers on Michigan Road. Our chargers will allow residents to charge their vehicles 24/7, and by placing them at our main entrance, it will allow for more visibility and hopefully help with range anxiety. EV’s are the future, and this project will give residents access to much needed charging infrastructure. P. 3 2.
