Technology Center Associates
Primary Plat
Project Description:
The Technology Center Associates Primary Plat is a proposed 2 lot commercial subdivision on approximately 4.53 acres. The site is
currently zoned B-2. The site is located at the northwest comer of I 17lh Street and College Avenue and is part of the Meridian
Technology Center.
Report on Water Distribution, Sanitary Sewer and Storm Sewer System:
I. Water Distribution
The potable water to the site will be provided by the City of Carmel Department Utilities. There is an existing 12" water main
located on the west side of College Ave and north side of I 17th Street. The existing main has sufficient capacity to serve the
expected demand for this development. No further water main extensions are anticipated for this project.
All water service laterals will be designed and installed in accordance with the City of Carmel Water and Wastewater Utilities.
2. Sanitary Sewer
Sanitary sewer service for this site is provided by Clay Township Regional Waste District (CTRWD). Sanitary sewer effiuent for the
site will be collected and piped to an existing sanitary sewer manhole located on the southwest comer of I 17th Street and College
Ave. The existing sanitary manhole is connected to an 8" main flowing north along and adjacent to College Ave.
All sewer service laterals will be designed and installed in accordance with the Clay Township Regional Waste District standards
and specifications.
3. Storm Sewer
The surface runoff on the site will be conveyed by a system of proposed storm sewer pipes within the development to existing
structures along College Ave. and to the western adjacent property. Detention for this development has been previously accounted
for by the Meridian Technology Park master design. The large off site detention ponds at the intersection of College Ave and
Congressional Blvd provide detention for this portion of the Meridian Technology Park. Water Quality will be provided for onsite
storm runoff prior to being conveyed to off site facilities.
Approvals for the design and construction of the storm sewer facilities must be obtained from the City of Carmel Department of
Engineering and Hamilton Co. Surveyor's Office.
4. Erosion Control
During all phases of the construction the Site General Contractor and all Subcontractors shall exercise measures to prevent the
erosion of soils due to the action of water and wind. All erosion and sediment control measures shall be implemented prior to
earth moving activities.
Sediment in run-off water shall be trapped by the use of such methods as silt fences and the Water Quality BMP provisions until
the disturbed area is stabilized. These shall be in place before any land alterations/grading.
Trapping devices shall be periodically inspected during dry periods and after each rainfall event by the Site Contractor.
Trapping devices shall be replaced if determined to be incapable of performing intended function of sediment trapping.
The Contractor shall have available on the construction site a water source capable of applying water to dry exposed soil in
order to prevent wind erosion. The application rate and manner shall be such that soil moisture is attained and no surface run-
off is created.
