Re: Ledger angles, Lot 29, Lakeside
Dear Mr. Thomas:
As you requested, 1 inspected the steel angles supporting the brick veneer on this new home. The brick
veneer on the front of the home is corbelled about 2 to 2 Y, inches, and this exceeds the residential
code. The single-story section in front is about 12 Yz feet across, and there is a double window in the
wall about 6 Yz feet wide. To support the veneer, 3-inch steel angles have been bolted to the concrete
angles Willi expansion anchors about 1 Yz feet apart. The horizontal legs of the angles were trimmed to
match the face of the bricks.
Ths combination of steel angles and anchors will support the bricks with an ample factor of safety.
Please let me know if ~ou have any questions.
